News Programs for Listening Practice
 

Hi Everyone,

My Japanese teacher suggested I watch the News daily for about 2 miinutes, something I am interested in (sports, economics). Any suggestions for shows with English subtitles to help with comprehension? I tried the suggestion of a foreigner that I watch Sazae-san over and over, jot down the dialogue, and try to make sense of the show. I must have spent 3 weeks on one episode watching it at least 20 times and spent a lot of time transcribing all the Japanese dialogue, looking up unknown words in my dictionary... I then bounced off my Japanese wife what I thought the show's theme etc. was about and was usually far off the mark. Any ideas would be appreciated.
