Depends where you want to start. I say start with the basics.

Google basic japanese lessons and you should find some interesting stuff.

Also start learning the writing system as soon as you can. Start with Hiragana and then move onto katakana, finally kanji (the most fun out of them all).

Most of all you must have patience. You won't learn this over night.

Oh and good luck :).

Try to make some japanese friends. They will be sure to help you.

For me right at the moment, I learn but book (colloquial Japanese), by audio course (pimsluers Japanese), from my girlfriend and by going to Japanese lessons once a week.

Hope this helps

Don't forget to watch Anime in Japanese with subtitles. This is another good starting point, but keep in mind that anime is fiction, it may use words not normally used in normal japanese.

;)

The problem with that is that beginners (or even intermediate learners) would have a hard time knowing what words and phrases they hear in anime are or aren't used in real life. When you aren't sure, please ask in the Japanese Language section.

And you are also assuming the translation is accurate. Anime publishers aren't in the business of making word for word accurate translations, they are in the business of making entertaining stories. If you tried to learn Japanese from "Bobobo Bo-BO Bobo" for example, you would sound like an insane person, as the subtitles and words spoken often have nothing to do with each other.
