dragonball live action movie
 

they are currently making a live action movie of dragon ball that is supposed to come out on august 15, 2008. I hope that they dont screw it up or they will have thousands of fans of the show mad at them for it. including one of my best friends who is a dragon ball fanatic to the extreme.

wow thats a pretty hard anime to make into a live action
their gonna have to use a lot of hair product to get the hair right lol

i dont think its gonna work. the whole idea of DBZ was to build up a small dillema and turn it into a whole season. i think they lived off the whole clifhanger of each episode.

however this should prove to be VERY intersting to see how they use CG and how they do he hair :mtongue:

lol.. it's going to be rather difficult.. and yes, i'm also interested in how they are going to use computer graphic to maximise the output of the film.. and the hair.. they gonna need some tough wax!..

And also, this talk about the hair is kinda strange. I doubt the actors are required to grow that much hair, and they're most likely to use wigs or computer generated graphics! As for flying. hmmmm, i wonder how they made superman fly in his movie :rolleyes:

they shuld b alright if they cast asian roles for the characters. just wouldn't make sense... cept if its hercule. in fact he shuld be the only western character in the movie.

@FM, again.. not every cast there are from america.. but if you're talking about the language of the film.. it's most likely to be English.

looking at the cast on wiki, i'm sad not to see broli as he's my favourate personally. but i wasn't really expecting to see him in a hollywood movie as hes not exactly the center of the plot, ah well, i can dream (perhaps the main giant from warrior king as broli)

Why are they doing Dragonball and not Dragonball Z in movie form? Wasn't Dragonball Z way more popular?

I'm a little bit skeptical, becuase this has happened and failed a few times in the past. And what a weird time to do it ~ ! It's been a while since DBZ or DB were really popular.

But I'll be there anyway ~ !

What I think they need to do so that it does not look rediculous, is to maybe make it a little bit more realistic looking. For instance the hair is just not going to translate well, so maybe try and do something different from the way spiked hair becuase it is going to look silly if they actually try and make super saiyan hair. But if anyone can make this movie great it is stephen Chow.

I think it is going to be alot better than it was, now that Stephen Chow is on board. Although I really don't like that american actors are playing the major roles. I am usually not picky about this kind of thing, but This works alot better if they were asian.

Sphinx01, what would you do to make this film better. I really think this type of film should not happen until the cgi technology gets better, becuase it could end up looking pretty stupid.
