How Japanese kids/girls watch anime/toku?

I am new here and this is my first post. When I was a boy I always fell how lucky to be a boys and live in Japan. They can always watch so many animes/tokusatsus for free in TV.

Now when I see so many many anime/toku being produced I wonder how Japanese alocate their time to watch anime/toku.

I mean what is the timeslot for every stuff like that in Japanese?

is it japan boy/girls or any person try to watch all the series?

is it anime/toku appear in every channel in japan? and how many tv channel actually in japan? thanks.....

I only had basic television when I was in Japan, but they have access to cable/satellite/internet channels like everyone else, so there are literally hundreds of channels they could watch. Some of those could conceivably be anime 24/7 channels, just like Cartoon Network in America.

On the basic channels I had, maybe 2/13 regularly aired anime. Usually in the morning and on weekends. Most of the basic channels aired news, talkshows, dramas, etc.

Contrary to popular belief, Japanese do watch more than anime.

I alwas thought it was treated like cartoons So It really dosen't suprise me to hear that basic channels only had them on on the weekends and mornings.

Cable/satellite may be around, but the average person doesn`t usually watch it.

I think the biggest misconception when it comes to anime, etc, is that it`s broadcast similarly to how it`s broadcast in the US - for example, every morning. In Japan, it`s once a week, with occasional gaps. If you`re watching a show as it`s being broadcast, then you can conceivably follow quite a few different series over the week. Let`s say, 1 or 2 each day in the morning (30 to 60 minutes) and maybe 1 in the evening. These are all different series.

Also, normally people have specific tastes and preferences - they don`t watch anime/tokusatsu/drama just for the sake of watching it. There is no OMG! Japanese entertainment!!! aspect to it. It`s just tv. If it`s not something they`re interested in, they just don`t watch it.

There are 24/7 anime channels - 2 which run only reruns (Animax and Kid`s Station) and one that runs specials, movies, and new series only (AT-X). However, I`d estimate only a few percent of Japanese actually watch these channels as they`re not free (available via cable or satellite) and most people in Japan do not feel it necessary to have cable. Regular broadcast is the norm. As Japan is in the process of switching over to digital broadcast, more people are subscribing to cable to get around having to replace their tv or buy a tuner, they STILL only usually subscribe to the regular broadcast channels.

the only things i know is the super hero time slot, i think it's on sunday 7.30 something because i watch the fun sub of super sentai and it has a clock render to the film.

then... how the parents controll their children to watch. i mean some anime actually too mature for kid (or is it different in japan ?? ) like ranma or even crayon sin-chan. is there any rating system for anime?

Pretty much any show on early in the morning has a clock in the corner. It`s actually more likely that it`s a weekday, rather than a weekend, as the clock is usually for those watching before they leave for school or work.

It`s the time of day. As most people don`t have cable and don`t have 24 hour channels, the hours which a child is awake and at home able to watch are limited. The most adult shows are on late (as in 1am or later) so it`s really not much of an issue.
Also, with smaller children, in general parents tend not to be very hands off with them and micro-manage their time.

Though I think the standards of violence levels in cartoons/kids programming is different in the US and Japan.

i dont think there are rating systems in japanese like PG and M, etc
in fact i remember watching Cutie Honey as a kid and then recently i found out it was almost soft porn.. o_O
but my mum didnt want me to watch crayon shin-chan lol
