Takeshi Kitano (Beat Takeshi)
 

Is there anyone here like Takeshi Kitano work? I have only seen one of his movie which is Zatoichi and i am very impressed with it, he is one of the most terrific diretor and actor i have ever seen. He also produce other movies but i haven't got the chance to see it!!! Please ge me the link if you can find them!!! Thank a lot!!!

I have to say, his work is very good his acting is again very good, especially in Battle royale, its great.

His work in directing films is great, he isnt my favourite actor or director, however he is up there with my top 10.

i love his work work too!
have seen zatoichi, dolls (:rheart: ) , hana bi, blood and bones and some other ones..
he s very intelligent & special of doing his work.
his face is amazing and acting and directing as well needs a lot of power i guess.
for me he is a star!
unfortunately he s not in japan .
he s a comedian as well. but only in japan...

I have most of his movies. My personal favorite, and one of his best reviewed movies is Hana-bi (Fireworks). Very sad, but very gripping movie. I also quite like Kikujiro. Kitano has actually directed and starred in a half-English, half-Japanese movie called "Brother"; one of the main characters is Omar Epps (the guy who plays Dr. Foreman on House).

I'll break it down for you, ;), :

~simple logic part~
People need money to make movies. People earn money by investing money in movies, and selling them. If you download movies instead of buying/renting them, they do not earn money. If they do not earn money, they cannot make more movies: making movies cost money. Result: no more movies.

~difficult logic part~
(carefull if you had trouble with the previous part, best skip this part and go directly to whatever you were doing)
Now you want to watch movies, and you dont pay for them. That means that you watch movies, made from money paid by people who DID buy the movie, giving the director and actors their money, so they can make another movie.

~Very difficult part ~
(carefull, metaphors used here!!)
Now, lets say, you buy a cookie. And some stranger starts eating from your cookie, you are not happy. It cost you money. The stranger had no right to eat from your cookie!
Now I will project this metaphor, on the aforementioned situation:
As downloader, you are "eating" the "cookie" of the people who pay for movies.

(All this should be read with a wink ofc, but that's the general idea anyway)

I saw all his movies, I am a big fan! I love Takeshi's Castle, very hilarious show!
He is now Teaching at the Art Academy/University of Tokyo! I wanted to go study there, just to get lessons from him, but too bad, I must speak Japanese first, because the lessons are only in japanese!

Soetimes you have to! Cause the movies you want are not sold in all countries! I bought enough, but his lates movie "Takeshi's" about his lookalike is not available here in Germany, I tried to order, but they said they don't have it :(
