thats quite of funny at german band names

'Rammstein' is called after a us-airforce base in germany

'Die Ärtzte' named themself that way because the wanted to create an Ä section in cd stores

"Die toten Hosen" is just nonesens bit in the beginning often announced as
"Die toten Hasen" ('The dead Rabbits')

i could continue this list trough nearly all genres but that would be too boring^^

then you may know that there was on 28 August 1988 an airshow in Ramstein
an Aerobatics squadron crashed and 70 people died thats the origin of the bandname.
they had to say that Rammstein comes from another origin to calm down the public they said the name was made from a 'Rammstein' a stone in streets if you dont want cars drive trough from the german words "rammen"(ram) and "stein"(stone)

after a time they have anounced themselfes
as "Rammstein-Flugschau" (Rammstein-Airshow)
to make clear that the name has to do with the crash

DropDeadDani 06-27-2009 06:26 PM

absolutly love this band!
my fave songs are sonne, du hast and ich will :)

Miyavifan 06-29-2009 06:50 PM

Those are really good songs.

I also like Du Hast and Du Riechst So Gut. It's written like this on wiki though:
Du riechst so gut.

TheCrimson 09-08-2009 11:30 AM

wish they'd stop talking about the new album, wish they'd just freaking do it! :)
blargh!

those who like Rammstein should check out Oomph!, Eisbrecher, Eisheilig and Megaherz :)

Oomph!'s singer will make you wanna dip your hand in your computer screens and bite him silly :)

Dero's really great! (singer of Oomph!)

I like Rammstein, but I prefer Oomph! I saw them live and it was great.

Aquilus 10-14-2009 10:18 PM

Has anyone already heard Rammsteins new album "Liebe ist für alle da"?

I'm really in a conflict with myself if it's good or not (especially because of the lyrics)
what do you think?

orewasenshi 10-14-2009 10:40 PM

Jesus, how could I miss this EPIC thread?!

Rammstein is just flat-out AWESOME.

@Aquilus: I didn't even know they had a new album D:

Pexster 10-15-2009 12:35 AM

oren, 'tis okay. :) You found it now.

koikurasu 10-15-2009 12:49 AM

I love them, they actually got me interested in German, plan to major in it =)

Aquilus 10-15-2009 10:24 AM

Yes they have a new one, actually amazon starts selling it on the 16th but the songs already leaked

may not all, but some are already on youtube too. Here the tracklist:

Album: Liebe ist für alle da

1. Rammlied – 05:19
2. Ich tu dir weh – 05:02
3. Waidmanns Heil – 03:33
4. Haifisch – 03:45
5. B******** – 04:15
6. Frühling in Paris – 04:45
7. Wiener Blut – 03:53
8. Pussy – 04:00
9. Liebe ist für alle da – 03:26
10. Mehr – 04:09
11. Roter Sand – 03:59

+ Bonus CD:

1. Führe mich – 04:34
2. Donaukinder – 05:18
3. Halt – 04:21
4. Roter Sand (Orchester Version) – 04:06
5. Liese – 03:56

Total Tracktimes: 22:16

The correct title of the 5th song is 'Büchstabü' but I don't know what this means or why it's censored in the title

@koikurasu:
you're going to study German?
I think you'll have a lot of fun with the articles.
As far as i know German is one of the hardest languages to learn, if you're not born with it because you need a good sense for the language.('sprachgefühl' <- found it at a dictionary, does that word really exist in English? it the same as the German)

It not only osunds like sex, have you seen the video of the song 'Pussy'?

YouTube - Rammstein - Pussy [ Censored ]

this is a censored one, but i think you can imagine from this

Pexster 10-15-2009 11:35 AM

Lol, Rammstein. Could have figured. :)

Aquilus 10-15-2009 12:02 PM

And thats not all, if you have a look at the lyrics about half of the songs are like that.

The lyrics of this album are a bit ... harder ... than usual,
but Rammstein has always been provoking, so it's not really surprising

"Pussy"
"... Blitzkrieg mit dem Fleischgewehr..."(Blizkrieg with the meat-rifle)

or

... blade-wire in the urethra...( don't know which song this was at the moment)

There are many more but most are not well to translate in my oppinoion
The titles are enough to figure that out.

Oni 10-16-2009 02:57 PM

Is the album coming stateside?

Yes, if my information is right it will be released on the 20th in the USA

Aniki 10-16-2009 10:11 PM

Their new album awesome. Although I prefer Rosenrot, it's hard to stop listening to this one.

TheCrimson 10-16-2009 11:46 PM

I love the new album! bought it two days before it was released, they had it at some shop here. and omg. who has a spare 200 Euro?

Rammstein Dildo Box

Aniki 10-17-2009 09:30 AM

That's a lot of toys for one person. At least the girls will have something to do while they're listening to the album.

TheCrimson 10-18-2009 06:09 AM

HAHA.
yeah... the lonely girls will never be lonely again...
which is Till's, do you think? O_O why do i even want to know? O_O

Oni 10-18-2009 07:23 AM

much as this might not be appropriate here, I'd inclined to say the biggest one.

seeing as how Till himself is big, anything small would look ridiculous...

though I doubt they're modeled after the guys.

Only big guys have big d*cks? Is that how you think?
Sorry Miyavifan, but it doesn't work that way.

Aquilus 10-19-2009 09:08 PM

You don't want to discuss this in public ;-) ok, would become a bit off topic.

But something else, does it only look for me as if the box is too small for the toys? Do i need glasses? :D

Sutiiven 10-19-2009 09:17 PM

Great band and great songs but more used to him singing in german then english though i dont understand a word
