Northern Japan is skiing/snowboarding heaven! There are countless winter resorts in Northern Japan but the quality of the snow may be best in Hokkaido becasue it gets powder snow. I myself loved staying at the Tomamu Resort in central Hokkaido. People say Niseko is also excellent.

In case you prefer places that are nearer Tokyo, there are Karuizawa, Minakami Kogen, Hakuba....just to name a few. There are too many to name because 80% of the Japanese land is mountainous, so it's almost made for winter sports!

We have skiing / snowboarding resorts all across the country.
Hokkaido, Nagano, Niigata, among other prefectures, recently attracts winter tourists from Australia, Taiwan, Korea, etc.

I've never been to Niseko, unfortunately, but I'd love to! :)

I also loved the snow at Hakuba, Nozawa Onsen, Myoko Kogen, and Akakura Onsen, which are located in the Shin'etsu region (Niigata and Nagano).:vsign:

Yeah I remember first time I went snowboarding... That Heel side thing didn't take me that long to get used to... But my problem is that I can only seem to go in a straite line and I'm unable to switch to heel side to slow myself down etc... i end up having to throw myself to the ground to stop. :(
