Airsofting in Japan?
 

Do they airsoft in Japan? cause i play it hear in the states and was wondering if they play it over there

i play also and pb, but i could not find any places that played.

i found guns, but no arenas

I don't go airsofting, but I do happen to know that a couple of the biggest airsoft gun manufacturers are Japanese ones, so that's probably a good sign that they do it Japan too.

Airsofting received a lot of media attention when it first came here many years ago. A good number of Japanese started playing it and within a year or two there was even a game show on TV based on airsofting.

But I think people got tired of it after a few years, which is one major nature of ours by the way. I'm sure that the general dislike (even hatred) of 'guns' in Japan also played a part in it. I don't think I've actually heard of airsofting in the media or among my circle of frends in the last several years.

When I was based in Atsugi in 1993 we played it during the summer in large lots or at night at schools or office campuses. It was elaberate stuff too, one time we did a night time beach drop in full cammies and airsofts from a huey helo owned by a big corperate player!

I'd say it dropped off due to Japan's anti-gun climate.
