When was created the drifiting??
I think was a brazilian created the moving xDD ( i'm joking) Have a look YouTube - Pega de Senna e Nelson Piquet Nelson Piquet doing drifting agains Senna in a F1 (between 0:17~0:19) |
drifting became culture in itself in the late 70s early 80s. As a sport not until the 90s.
Keiichi tsuchiya obviously being the one bringing light to drifting way back when he was tearing up events with his dorifuto style. It wasn't the crazy sideways you see today but it was definately a little bit of flare going on in the rear end. And for an earlier post, 300zx is a horrible drift car. Rear suspension doesn't agree what drifting wants. s-chassis however do lol. Its a great highway car though! |
we only get a couple of god's in this our lives..
Michael Jackson- god of music Keichi Tsuchiya- god of drift we should appreciate them. I am thinking of getting a nice aw11.. 86- 89' for drifting... not terribly powerful, but i like that. mostly plan to hang the tail out in the rain anyways to save on tireware. absolutely love that car i would rather people drift in safe places like parking lots, but i've used some rarely used or unused public roads before.. not too big a deal.:rheart: on almost everything german especially BMW... I can't stand those chinsy things... I for the life of me cannot figure out why someone would pay upwards of 40,000 on such a daft car... can someone explain to me how they think they look driving a mercedes?.. It's sad that most japanese cars nowdays are f/f's... miss the rwd era, but i'd still have anything japanese over anything german. |
I drifted in Japan for about a year, then blew my motor at Drift Matsuri Spring this year, so I threw in the towel.

Personally i think it is really dumb to drift in a busy public street, but when your almost alone on a nice mountain road or at a calm neigborhood, it should be cool.
For me, i love drifting, even though i cant do it myself yet ^_^. I would like a nice skyline or one of the wide body supra,s. but thats just another dream i geuss. hehe. |
Not my thing, but there was a pretty cool little segment they did about drifting on Top Gear with Ken Block: YouTube - Ken Block on Top Gear - amazing rally drifting
|
Unfortunately, I'm the only person who is interested in drifting in my circle, and so I can never get the hang of drifting by myself. I'd prefer someone to be there, watching and telling me what I'm doing wrong.
Still learning. |
