surfing is very popular in Japan

There are many popular matial arts in Japan but Now Suring is very popular in Japan. Tokyo are is so noisy and crowded so Tokyo residents run away to beach and get relax time Now I'm on the beach and see ocean It's my favorite thing!! How do you think about it?

I have seen Japanese surfers near Kamakura / Enoshima, but I think the waves weren't very big. Where are the famous surfing beaches in Japan - the ones where they have surfing competitions and big waves? Are they near Tokyo?

Surfing has been popular in Japan for decades. Martial arts for centuries.

Kamakura area(we call shonan area) is always flat. but nearest beach from Tokyo. so alway crowded. I used to go there. but now Chiba, Ibagagi prefecture and Izu are my home points. There are a lot of beaches We can chose good place.
