Well if you get a 360 and get xbox live you can play with ppl around the world and even in japan. You can add me and i even have a couple of friends on there that are in japan

Look at the list of games currently out for both consoles. Count the number of games for each that you want to play. Also compare the list of upcoming titles.

Choose whichever you think you`ll have more fun with.

In the end, it all comes down to the games. They both technically have online playing (Xbox service isn`t free though), etc.

We have all the current consoles (Wii, 360, PS3, plus DS and PSP), and enjoy them all.

You'd get Wii for the games.

You'd get a 360 if you're more into online integration and FPS dominance.

You're an idiot if you won't get a PS3 just because it's a PS3 (aka people tell you not to). There's no argument it's online service as a whole is lacking compared to XBL. However from what I've heard about the XBL servers PSN has less lag in games.

Depands on what games you wanna play more, like nyororin mention above.

I don`t own a single FPS for the 360, and I`m quite happy with it? Nor do I play online.

You don`t need to make broad assumptions.

What you DO need to do is look at the games, and choose which you`d like to play.

Wii is more like a family game type system.
PS3 is not that good, its exactly like a PS2 with bluray (kinda stupid)
Xbox 360 is the way to go :3

And almost all games are covered by the 360 (except exclusive sony titles)

Im a hardcore fighting gamer, so wii is straight outta there.
So the only real competitor is PS3, but thats pretty pricy to play only like 5 games D:

Seriously, just choose the console with the games you want to play. Ignore "The such-and-such is so much cooler than the others!" or "Such-and-such SUCKS!"
Make your own opinions. In the end, it will be the games that determine whether you enjoy the console or not... So choose based on games.

Agreed, I eventually want to own all of the latest gen consoles. but for right now, I'll stick with my 360. And I came to the decision to purchase said 360 because I followed the same guide lines as the above poster.

I'm mainly getting 360 for halo 3, so I don't count as much :/

I would definitely say Wii... but I am a Nintendo nerd.

I would say Wii because they seem to last a lot longer than xbox systems and nintendo there consoles seem to stay working for a very long time or go with playstation :vsign:

I have both, and the games on Xbox are all the damn same! Halo, Call of Duty, Gears of War. Do I see a common theme of men shooting each other on the Xbox?

The PS3 and and Xbox 360 are just updated versions of the previous consoles, nothing new or innovative about that. And I also don't give a damn about this new-fangled blu-ray either :P

wii lacks online play and graphics compare to otter seventh generation consoles is more a family/move a lot thing
but this is just my opinion… I am happy with my xbox 360

i would take the wii:) its kinda funny to play with it:) like eye toy by the ps2 xD and its better than just push the keys at the controller xDD

I'm not going to lie, I'm not a huge Microsoft fan myself, nevertheless, I know that the Xbox 360 is the console with the best games in the market so far.

I would go for the Wii, it's cheaper, but the price depends of which Xbox pack you will buy.

If you are a Nintendo fan, buy the Wii, I have 2 Wii's, and I never play them, I have Super Mario Galaxy for like 2 months and only played about two hours, if Mario Galaxy were at my dad's house, I would have passed it already, but as it's at my mother's...

I like japanese consoles, that's why I will not buy the Xbox, even though some of its games are awesome, like Halo 3, and others I can't remember right now =P

True, but that's the general idea behind the console and the main factor splitting it between a PS3 or Wii.

PS3 and 360 have the same graphics for the most part. Exclusive games are the only ones where PS3 generally has the edge in graphics but you'll find plenty of people who will deny that.

When comparing 360 and PS3 they're about the same cost. The only difference there is that 360 has lower tiers of the console to offer for a lower cost. However you're not getting the same bang for your buck either.

Anyway, I'd say a Wii. Most 360 games can easily be run on a PC with the exemption of a few, which aren't that great. Mass Effect would be the only one.

The wii has a lot of good games as does the 360. Personally, I am a huge nintendo fan so I have a wii.
A few things you need to take into consideration:
Graphics/gameplay-do you care about great graphics or fun gameplay more?
Titles out- both systems have a lot of good titles out.
Upcoming games-I haven't looked at the 360's upcoming games but I know the wii has some really cool on the way.
I'd go with the wii. It has a lot of really fun games. The 3rd party was weak at first but getting stronger. Plus, it has Brawl:)

You can't play online with Wii? Uhm, Mario Kart Wii just came out and it's online play is awesome! Still Xbox 360 is definatly the best for online play but the Wii isn't dead in the water completely - and it's free.

You can't just say one console sucks over another, in your opinion maybe but not just in generally. Each have their positive and negative points and each fits into a certain persons criteria. I plan to get them all at some point :D It would have been more helpful if the OP had specified what he/she liked and important features and so on.

Wii isn't completely free actually. As well the online play with Wii games is basically limited to the game you're playing and not a universal thing with it's own network.

Nintendo has already said the the Wii won't be free online for every game, let alone free for ever.

If you google "pay for wii online" you can find other sources to back it up.

The Xbox isn't just FPS, like so many try to pass out. You have Forza, for example which is a good simulator, than you have DoA, a so-so fighting game. And these are just some examples, because there are a lot of non-fps games.
But, like so many said, I think you should look at the games list, because let's face it you don't a console just to browse the internet or too look good at the corner, and choose which one as more games of your liking.

No one is denying it has more than FPS. Predominantly the console is a FPS/3PS machine. That's just where all the money is right now. It's the cool thing to develop.
