The graphics of a game should reflect the time period and the platform. In this day and age of photographic-like visuals (i.e. Crysis), good graphics most often does equal a good game, because it means that the developers ran the extra mile to make sure their game was fun AND visually impressive. Although, nothing is 100% sure, and there are exceptions, like games that are totally devoted to visuals, and are atrocious in all other aspects. That means the developers were lazy, dishonest people who only wanted to sell aesthetics, not considering the feelings of their devoted gamers. Now that's a sad story -.-;;

Sorry, a bit off topic, but I felt like getting that out there.

sorry. its just. i'm passionate about this xD

i LOVE the V1 xbox, it was a great system, but the 360 just sucks. it was made to break.

im eventually going to get a ps3 anyways so i might as well get it for that.
as for which to get?
get the version of which system you own.
i wouldnt say it's a complete waste to buy a system because of a game because it's not like the game you buy for it is the only one you'll be able to play :)

i had a ps3 for over a year, about a month ago i boxed it up and traded it in on a Wii ... the Wii has more play time on it already in the past month then the ps3 got over that whole year ...

it all boils down to what you want out of a game ...

to me, the 'flashy' graphics are not as important ... if i want them i will stick with PC games ... since it is a long way before a platform system catches up with my PC for overall performance ... (esp taking the fact that i upgrade it at least every 6 months)

PS3! Wii is too active. Who wants to move while playing video games? It ruins the whole point...

that would be the first time i have ever heard that used in the argument! ...

i guess because i grew up with the Nintendo 'the glove' controller .. the Wii is just like second nature (and far less buggy) ...

the Wii won't nesc make someone fit .. but it will help them possibly kick start it a bit and lead on to other more active things to do which will help.

well, obviously it's more health friendly compared to your "sit on your ass all day" console.

that's what i meant.

xD

i know hah! ... i am enough of a nerd that i wore my HRM while playing my Wii a few times just to see it's reaction... with a decent enough game it would get my HR into the 50% range ... but thats about it ... that is still a huge improvement over sitting around and just mashing a button.

but of course, with a "sit down on your ass all day" console, you MAY develop mighty strong thumbs? =P

but yeah, the Wii has things like Wii fit and Wii sports, it can really help you to be a much healthier person >> believe it or not, it feels like an exercise when you play Wii sports properly xD

it is what would be considered a light aerobic workout ... that is for sure, which is a lot more then most people get ... and just doing that for 15 to 20 min a day every day can go a long way to helping someone ...

i do know about the stong thumbs tho ... i was one of the 'first kids' to suffer from 'nintendo thumb' though mine started with the Atari

I think the only game I've gotten up while playing on my Wii was wii sports, and zelda. Zelda i was bored and said why not, everything else planted on my arse. Wii is only "active" if you want it to be.

Through doing the jogging in wii fit I lost about 1.5 stones (20lb) in less than 2 months. :)
