For me it's Resident Evil all the way. Everyone says that Capcom lost their light, and that R.E. is no longer a horror series because of the last two games using Ganados and Las Plagas parasite infected beings and not zombies.
Capcom reminded us that they are still interested in the zombies when they released the Degeneration CG film 3 months ago. I believe the zombies will be back in other games, if they didn't want to use zombies anymore then they wouldn't be in the film. I'm sure they'll be back. Silent Hill is number two for me.
