Best Japanese Survival Horror Franchise...
Well, this is kinda my first posting here, but I figured it'd be fun to try and start off with a poll. Hopefully it'll start a debate about good horror games coming out of Japan...
Which is your favorite? 1.) (Biohazard) Resident Evil 2.) Silent Hill 3.) Fatal Frame 4.) Siren 5.) Clock Tower |
I prefer Resident evil because I play it more than the others ^^ But I loke Silent hill too
I want to play RE5 soon *-* |
Siren is kinda good too..
|
I have been playing Resident Evil 5 and it is sick!! It is so awsome!! The only thing that has ever bugged me bout Resident Evil is that you cant walk around when you aim or shoot. I honestly perfer FEAR and FEAR 2 over Resident Evil. The grafics tho on RE5 are sick, I luv it! And my bf broke up with me recently so being able to go around shooting a bunch of people makes me feel a lot better. :D

Fatal Frame.
Basically, I'll tell you why. 1) Resident Evil: It's an obvious gore fest, and just not suited to what I like. 2) Silent Hill: Good storyline, but I just couldn't get over how annoying the controls are! 3) Project Zero [Fatal Frame in America]: Deep storyline that ties together extremely well throughout the game. Amazing psychological horror and events, that plays on your feelings of empathy towards the characters, and their vulnerability. It's subtle yet immense. 4) Siren: From what I've played it's pretty good, I just haven't played it enough to compare it with the others. 5) Clock Tower: Never played it. |

I understand that thread is about the best Japanese survival horror game, but still, I'm quite disappointed that the father of survival horror games - Alone in the Dark isn't included in the poll.
Each have their advantages and disadvantages (except Siren, I hate it), but I'll go for the game that scared me most - Silent Hill. |
Well I like Silent hill, but I was in love with Resident Evil 3, but Silent hill is the awesomest to me that is.

Resident Evil.

AHHHHH!!!!!
Why do you have to make this so hard?! Silent Hill, Siren, and Clock Tower are seriously my favorite horror genre games I have such a hard time choosing from.... T.T I really want Siren 2 on the PS3... "HEEEEEEEY!" "Professor? Where are we? What should we do? Professor? What are those strange things? Professor?" "PLEASE! SHUT UP!" I love playing Clock Tower. I brought in scissors to school today and we were being immature pretending to be Scissorman. I've seen almost all of the endings and I crack up over how corny it is, but how amazingly awesome the game is. I've gotten quite a few scares from it too. Right now I'm playing Silent Hill Origins and it sucks. My favorite SH is the very first one. SH2 is also great, with the most gripping plot, and SH3 is the scariest. I'm planning on replaying SH1 after I beat SHO. I haven't played SH5 yet, though... No money. Plus if I buy it for $60, I'll beat it in about 12-15 hours so it's not worth that much money. When it goes down to $25 I'll probably buy it. I beat RE4 last weekend and I'm going to playing RE5 on PSN with my friends. I'm so excited next month!!!! Fatal Frame I have never played. I'd like to. After thinking about this... Out of my three, I'm going to vote for Clock Tower because it's the oldest and most original out of Silent Hill and Siren. Clock Tower needs more votes for it's classicness. Worth my $18 on eBay. |

fatal frame is awsome:)

It's hard to choose between Resident Evil and Silent Hill... but I'm gonna have to go with Silent Hill, because it scared me first :P
But then again Resident Evil is just as good (RE5 looks sooo good, but me and my friend kept getting killed by the axe weilding dude from the village level on the demo...) |
Resident Evil 4.
|
My friends and I played Clock Tower IRL. It was amazingly fun to play in the dark with tongs in replacement of scissors.

For me it's Resident Evil all the way. Everyone says that Capcom lost their light, and that R.E. is no longer a horror series because of the last two games using Ganados and Las Plagas parasite infected beings and not zombies.
Capcom reminded us that they are still interested in the zombies when they released the Degeneration CG film 3 months ago. I believe the zombies will be back in other games, if they didn't want to use zombies anymore then they wouldn't be in the film. I'm sure they'll be back. Silent Hill is number two for me. |
SWEET!
Resident Evil, and Silent Hill. |
