Bayonetta
Devil May Cry with T*Ts! :P
tried the Demo, pre-ordered the Aussie Climax Edition that comes with the pretty gun 8) can't wait for it. I know it's already out in some countries, so anyone care to give their opinions on it? suppose I should post a video or something for those who've not seen a trailer or whatnot. I can't bloody wait 8) finally, a beat-em-up with a chick with nude finishing moves! |
A game with an ass-kicking, lollipop-sucking bitch with a British accent dressed in tight leather from top to bottom. Yeah, who wouldn't want a game like that.
|
I played the demo. It's pretty fun. But I'm making myself finish Assassin's Creed 2 before I get any new games. I still haven't finished playing the latest Tomb Raider game either.
|
She knows how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. :]
Anyway It looks nice. My friend pre-ordered it, so I can't wait to see/play it. |

![]() the awesome aussie Climax Edition 8) |
Holy Moly! The climax edition looks awesome. I really want that gun replica.
|
8) my friend works at the place i'm getting it from, and he says they arrived today, he was taking them out of the box and told me it was MASSIVE 8) i am so excited <3
|
Can anyone that has played it offer a review of this game? I might look into playing it myself. :)
|
Downloaded the demo. The story didn't quite grab me. The graphics weren't bad, but I also didn't see anything special about it. The fighting system is great no complaints on that. Personally I don't think the character was that hot. Turns out they took parts from the hottest super models and made a super model Frankenstein monster. Just a pet peeve about her too is the way she stands when you don't do anything. It's like she's trying to lean on something that isn't there lol. The monster design was great though, definitely some of the best work Ive seen. Overall I'd say it was an alright game.

i so want this game

the story is... confusing. like every other anime. :P style is amazing, gameplay, amazing. its good, but if you're a technical cock about games and like games to be amazingly hard and all that, you probably wont like this. this game on very easy you can literally play with one hand leaving the other hand free for... Bayonetta appreciation :)

Is this like the Devil May Cry series? |
This is a really good game. I've been binging on it for the past few days, well actually every day since I purchased it on the 5th.
The story is actualy pretty good, but it's apparent the developers crammed in more story than the game could handle for it's length. There's a massive world and quite a bit of lore for this game. After its experienced start to finish loose ends start to make sense and it wraps up to be a great story. The best part of this game is the combat, and all the weapon combinations that are possible. There's a huge variety too. Not a massive amount, but more than the average action adventure. This includes shotguns, massive claws, bazookas, a whip, hand guns, ice skates, and even a lightsaber. There's plenty of content to unlock, such as; weapon specific appearances (Ex: If you buy the ice skate one she will have an angel feather band on her head, and a figure skater skirt on only while the skates are equipped), full costumes, accessories, characters, weapons, and even a hidden stage. Anyone can play the game. Easy and very easy mode come with automatic play. This is a literal button mash; the game will do all the work for you. There's also normal, hard, and "infinite climax" to unlock. Infinite Climax mode disables witch time. Witch will speed up your attacks, and slow down enemies for a set amount of time when you time a dodge properly. There's an accessory system in the game to farther customize play style. Two can be used at once. This includes things like disabling witch time, but dropping an explosive blast when dodging instead, or entering witch time temporarily at the cost of magic when you take damage. Unlike most action adventure games Bayonetta does not have free roaming enemies. Bayonetta has something it likes to call verses. Each verse has a set number of enemies based on the difficulty level being played under. At the end of a verse a medal is awarded. The medal grade is determined by 3 factors: Combo points, Time, and damage taken. The medal is an average of the 3. Get all platinum and a pure platinum is awarded. The medals through the level average for a final trophy for the level. More details I could go on about, but I think it's a great game. |
*fan girl air leap* I really want this game i havent play the demo or anything but it looks awesome...... *runs to go try to convice mom to pre-order*

i played it on Very Easy at first, cause i suck at most games. now i'm trying it on normal 8D anyone figured out what those perfume things meant to do yet? i only just. it's awesome! :P is everyone playing the PS3 or EggBox? the PS3 got the lower rating... which I can understand as if you wanted to skip a movie scene, it takes longer than actually watching the movie scene :P hopefully an update in the future fixes that :) |
I have the 360 version, and have tried the PS3 version... There is a HUGE difference in the frame rate and loading. Like, cringe worthy. I feel kind of bad that a lot of the reviews out there are based on the PS3 version, as it really does feel choppy while the 360 is perfectly smooth. They did some serious optimization that just did not carry over to the PS3. (Especially as it was ported by a totally different group...)
As for an update fixing the PS3 version - Sega released a statement saying they could not fix any loading... So so much for that. |
Downloading the demo just now for PS3. My thoughts will be posted soon. lol

I want to play it on Xbox :) |
well, i hope future PS3 updates of the game will fix all tha pooey-ness. 8)
I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY BADLY want a pair of her glasses. :P |
I played the demo a while back and it was pretty good. Though you could tell it was made by the creator of devil may cry. It was like devil may cry with more guns seriously like guns on her shoes. The fighting was more fun but I had issues with the camera. The mini bosses were awesome and action commands looked cool.
P.S. If you are into the bare bottoms of hot video game characters you will probably want to get this game. |
My friend showed me a bit of the gameplay. The gameplay and items are cool. You can even taunt :P Cuz you know, taunt is the most important part. jaja jk.

SEGA published the game for Platinum games, and SEGA is the one who wanted to have the game multiplatform. Platinum games is a rather small development team and did not have the financial resources to properly develop a PS3 version of the game, nor did SEGA want to invest. SEGA then decided to just port the game themselves. They were handed the source code and just made the game runnable on PS3. To get the game working on PS3 as it is on the 360 would require a massive rework to the game engine Platinum built from the ground up. SEGA did not want to invest the time or the resources into doing so. In short the game was never meant to be a PS3 exclusive at its conception, and SEGA does not want to invest to fix the PS3 version due to minimal to no financial gain. Quote:
For example: If have Druga's fragrance on Bayonetta will have a tail if the weapon is worn on her feet, and kitty ears if the weapon is worn on her hands. If she wears a pair on her hands and feet at the same time she will have both a tail and kitty ears. Quote:
Taunting is somewhat helpful. It causes the enemy to come at you which gives you an easier time anticipating their attack to counter/dodge. There's also an accessory that will heal you as you taunt an enemy. |

I have the PS3 version, I don't find it sluggish or choppy at all. Bottom line is, rendering is smooth enough for the game to be fun. How fast do you want it to be anyways?

The problem wasn't about the speed of the game either, it was the frames per second and how smooth the game could run. |

On the PS3, it`s variable with a max of 30 that it rarely hits. (Tests have shown it is between 20 and 25 most of the time.) There is a huge and very visible difference. |

The PS3 version of the game runs around 30fps and dips down to around 20 sometimes. There's a few spots where it goes even lower. Well only one that I can think of. It's not an issue, but something people like to complain about because they can, or insist on comparing to the 360 version. |
The PS3 version had a patch released a few days ago. The most notable addition is the ability to install the game data onto your HDD. It's about a 4.5 GB install.
The install will dramatically reduce the load times and almost eliminate the load times while playing, pausing, and skipping scenes. The patch also appears to have given a significant performance boost to the frame rate, and graphics of the game. |
The patch worked wonders. The install solved alot of problems; massive load times and screen tears have been drastically reduced putting the PS3 version on par with the 360 version.

On a lighter note, I beat the game on Non-Stop Infinite Climax. Pillow talk is incredibly deadly :) |
Believe it or not I have yet to beat it. I'm in
Chapter XIV fighting Jeanne on normal. I died once and quit...lol
I'll probably come back to it after I beat Dante's Inferno

Oh Crimson, I love that you know your video games. :P
