Girl gamer (?)

Hello! ^^
I want to start gaming but I don't know what games I could like
So I have a question: Is there any girly game out there? :D
I mean I'm looking for a game that girls in general might like, it can be role-playing or something like that.
Sorry if I'm not being very clear..I'm kind of a newbie...
xD

Aniki 02-02-2010 01:25 PM

Try Sims........

Yamha 02-02-2010 02:35 PM

Maybe Spore :p

MeIsKevin 02-02-2010 02:50 PM

I know it's not Rpg, but I would recommend the Silent Hill series if you like horror games. It's a great storyline abd feel so sucked into it. I guess both genders would find it cool, because I've seen girls play it :)

Silent Hill 2 trailer: YouTube - Silent Hill 2 Trailer
it's said to be the best on in the series :3

A Rpg girls would like is Neosteam, it's free to play ;)

Formonitrile 02-02-2010 03:00 PM

I say you should just go and browse a video game store and see what interests you.
I'm a girl and I'm a hardcore gamer. You shouldn't start by asking what games girls like because they aren't always (read: usually) very fun! I do like some 'girl' games, like Sims, but I like many more 'non-girl' games too.

Just go out there and get started! :3

Heather 02-02-2010 03:17 PM

I'm a girl gamer, and all I play is drifting games, other car games, shooting, and violence. I love it. Thats kind of a secret though.
I also like final fantasy games.

PockyMePink 02-02-2010 03:23 PM

I recommend Zelda. Anything Zelda.
Zelda is more aimed towards puzzles, but it has enough action and fighting in it to keep you interested and to keep the games fast paced. The storylines are interesting, and you can easily fall in love with it. They're usually pretty challenging, though, but they become easier once you get the hang of it (the more you play it, the more you know what to look for and what you should be doing).

Aquilus 02-02-2010 04:58 PM

I generally would recomend not to ask what games you could like as a girl, the fist answer will be Sims in that case, everywhere.
All gaming girl I know are playing exact the same things as the boys, of cause many girls play Sims, but you seriously can't call that gaming in my oppinion

You just have to try some games, then you get an image of what the different genres are like. Oh and do you want to play with a pc or a console?, thats the most important point out of my view

Tyrien 02-02-2010 05:16 PM

flower.

best way is to list what types of stories you like.

Zerj 02-02-2010 06:17 PM

Thank you all for replying =)
And yeah I know that wasn't exactly the right question to ask but it's just that I don't like cars, fights or games related to violence, that's why I want to know about "games for girls" ^^

Which is why I asked what kind of themes you DO like :P Saying what you don't like helps, but you'll probably get results you're more satisfied with if you say what you do like.

Hell even listing (purely an example) anime you like could help with recommendations.

Uhm..
Well...
I like fantasy and science fiction...
:3

Tyrien 02-02-2010 08:39 PM

What I would do to just get yourself started is go download steam and try some demos listed under adventure, puzzle, or role playing and see if there's any you like.

Welcome to Steam

I could list off several titles I think are really good, but I don't think that would help much.

If I was to just name some PC games off the top of my head I would say...

Dragon Age: Origins (does involve violence, but heavily fantasy based)
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (again violence, but doesn't even have blood, lots of fantasy)
Mass Effect 1, and 2 (again... there is violence, but not brutal violence. Cartoon violence. This is sci-fi)

You could also try MMOs such as Ragnarok Online, World of Warcraft, EVE Online, Maple Story, or LaTale to name a few.

JojoBizarre 02-02-2010 08:41 PM

The sims 3 seems like a good pick.

Dragon age origins, seems like a good game, well all my ladies friends love it.

tea4sue 02-03-2010 06:16 AM

if you have a wii.....

i love animal crossing - city folk

and i know plenty of guys who play it. but you would probably describe it as a "girly" game. it's hard to explain. probably better to google it.

and if you do get it let me know and we can be friends on it!

tea4sue 02-03-2010 06:20 AM

what about myst or something like that? that's an old one, but they probably still make it or have a new one out like it. i'm a little, ummmm, older :)

Zerj 02-04-2010 11:37 AM

My friend told me about a game called Ragnarok Online...
I think I'm gonna try that one.
I'll tr all the games you guys said ^^

I played Ragnarok Online myself for some time, actual it was my first game I really played for a longer time that was five years ago. If you have some people to play with it's really nice. I had a cool guild back then so it was really fun.
I can recommend that game, but it's not everyones style.

hikashu 02-05-2010 06:18 AM

Hmm...

Nitendogs for the DS. :3

mythai 02-16-2010 04:05 AM

I'm a girl gamer. I like RPG types games, Final Fantasy series. You should try Kingdom's Heart on the PS2. There are Final Fantasy and Disney characters. Not very violent as in no blood/gore.

I tried it but I instantly hated it..
>_<
So I decided that online games are not my thing and I'm probably getting a console, a Wii or something.

personally i recommend zelda for that i bought my consoles :P
spore is also a funny game^^
good luck!

Naedora 03-17-2010 09:20 PM

mmorpg games:
RF Online
Cabal Online
WoW (many girls play this compared to other mmo's, idk why)
Dekaron (also named 2moons)

many of these are player vs player games, but to have fun in these games, you have to look at the community first.

edelweiss 03-18-2010 12:20 AM

It would be easier if you could narrow down the field. Are you looking for Action/Adventure games, Platform, Puzzle, Music, RPGs or Strategy?

I'm currently playing Dragon Age Origins which does have fighting but is a lovely fantasy RPG. Or try a classic general fan favorite franchise like Final Fantasy. And I agree with the Kingdom Hearts recommendation. Most other girl gamers I know have liked it.

i love DAO and DA: Awakening just came out, cant wait to play it xD
still need to finish DAO first

thcuteness 03-18-2010 12:41 AM

I say the easiest way to pick a game you'll like is to look at the type of movies you watch, I've always found myself playing games in the category of movie types I like.....

MissMisa 03-18-2010 12:57 PM

It's quite unusual to just 'start gaming,' most people just fall into it.

Just because you are a girl doesn't mean you should limit yourself to 'girly' genres. Try everything, you might suprise yourself. :)

MangaGal 03-26-2010 11:56 AM

I recommend Singstar & Guitar Hero and Quizgames and adventure games like Broken Sword.
Its more like a book, like the Davinci code with a good story and you ahve to think. And not the boring stereotypes.

Syberia 2 is a great adventure game but very hard.

I also like casualgames and cute games like puzzle bobble, peggle etc.

kalcia 03-26-2010 09:39 PM

I'd certainly recommend Final Fantasy series (try new ones, like Final Fantasy XIII, XII, X, X-2, or if you like older ones, I love Final Fantasy VII, IX was great too).
And I'm a girl gamer ;)

calv930 03-27-2010 01:56 AM

MMORPG: MapleStory

LOL...such a overplayed game and boring to me.
got to lvl 103
-_- big waste of time...but many girls tend to like it and guys too...very "girly/kiddy" graphics in a way.

Oni 03-27-2010 04:01 AM

I'm a girl gamer and I play games from Modern Warfare 2 and Unreal Tournement 3 to Final Fantasy VII and Need for Speed. It all depends on preferance. If you like RPG's try stuff like Two Worlds, Fable, Final Fantasy.... to name a few. Just look around, thats how I find stuff :D

manganimefan227 03-27-2010 06:16 AM

I used to. Now it's just when riding in a long ride . . .

As a girl I would recommend easier casual games maybe a couple of puzzle games? What system do you have? It would be easier to recommend if I knew if you have console or handheld.

JessX 05-16-2010 01:08 AM

I don't play games a lot but here has always been a solid name on my list-Resident Evil I like those white-knuckle creepy stuff and when I get enough jumpy I call it quits by switching to some girl game

Tyrien 05-16-2010 04:17 AM

3D Dot Game Heroes.

Unknown 06-12-2010 12:34 AM

Try Tales Of Vesperia for 360 or PS3(if you know your japanese since the PS3 port is currently import only.Has exclusive Artes though compared to the 360 version). Most people who play it especially girls usually say "Rita or Judith is my favorite character" since their girls themselves
