unless you have a license (probably a probability of 0 if you are a foreigner), it is illegal to have anything but a replica in your home I believe

Well then what about family heirlooms? I mean someone has to have some old family katana somewhere, and I thought they where allowed to have them displayed in their house.

Those antique swords are treated as art works, not weapons.

Production and possession of such swords is allowed but regulated.

Huh... never thought about it that way... Oh well, looks like their is absolutely no potential for me to bring over some of my own "artwork". Looks like my parents are gunna have to hold on to a few things for me if I get selected...
