Why don't you contact govt. authorities in Japan?

You can start by asking the nearby Japanese consulate and I'm sure they can help.

Since foreigners are required to register, somebody should have some kind of records.

i dont wona get u in a bad mood but have you eve wasted a though 4 the worst scenario

but anyways you should try to contact the authorities thats the 1 and only option
