Moving to Osaka

Hi, Im moving to Osaka.
Im thinking about bringing my doggie with me :p
The thing is my employer found me an apartment and it's no pets allowed >_<
How can I find a family for him to live with, until I find a pet friendly apartment?

"Pet friendly apartments" are rarer in Japan than the US, you may have trouble finding one. Plus the employer would then lose the key money he paid for you, you'd have to pay key money for a new place if you find one, etc. I think you may be better off leaving your dog at home, with friends, family, or another good home...

good luck with your doggie, i know i wouldn't be able to leave my beloved cat at home. I hope everything works out. He's super cute!

ANIMAL REFUGE KANSAI

am not sure if they will keep your dog for you till you can get a pet friendly apartment.

But as samurai said, it is hard to look for a pet friendly apartment. Even a japanese friend of mine found it hard to search for that kind of apartment.

If your Japanese employer found you an apartment, then that is where you are living. Saying "I want to find a pet-friendly apartment" is the same as saying "all the time and effort and money you spent on getting me this apartment was a waste." In other words, you might as well give him the middle finger. Not a good way to start a working relationship. (Did you tell him you needed a pet-friendly apartment when you got the job?)

Anyway, as far as I know, a 6-month quarantine is required for dogs and cats moving to Japan, so you would be separated from your pet for your first 6 months in Japan (unless the laws have changed).

Find someone at home to take care of your dog while you are in Japan.
