I miss pizza. As good as they may be at other things, the Japanese simply cannot make a good pizza. It amazes me when things like corn, bonito (fish) flakes, raw egg, or mayonnaise are considered toppings. What's more, your typical "large" delivery pizza is smaller than a medium pizza in America, yet costs twice as much.

And, as much as I hate to say it, I actually miss American television. Japanese television varies little, which all channels showing similar programs. About half the day is talk dedicated to news and restaurant reviews or food recipes. The other half is divided between dramas, anime, sports, and educational programs.

u can't beat that. 10 o'clock in the evening and it's still light outside, u don't get that in japan.

yeah, I agree with that completely... blazing sunshine at 5am due to a lack of DST kinda sucks (especially when I go jogging and end up stupidly hot/sweaty)

the thing is that apparently japan had DST during the occupation and there have been same discussion in parliament of re-introducing it again. now, it still won't be light until 10 in the evening, but it's a start.

Family, friends and my language...I would go insane not being able to speak Icelandic for that long a time, I'm so scared I'd lose my accent ! :)

Oh I hope not. It is one thing about home I definitely would not miss.

I'll miss alot of the big flat spaces. Japan is mountinous not alot of plains. It's kinda nice being able to see 5 miles out and only be 100 ft up.
