Credit transfer and Jobs
 

Alright I'm planning on going to college in montreal, canada for about 4 years majoring in English/jornalism/creative writing. Is there anyway for me to transfer my credits to a college in japan? And if I can how supportive is the Japanese socity with jornalist and writers? Like, is there good pay or would you be living from pay check to pay check?

Are talking about transferring high school credits or college credits? For example do you plan on taking a few years in Canada and then go to Japan?

As far as I can tell Japan is much like the US, you can definitely make a living out of Journalism.

However...if you're majoring in English/journalism/creative writing, I'm guessing you would be shooting for writing for an English paper in Japan. I can't imagine there would be that many in Japan. But who knows...hopefully someone can answer that for you.

Transferring credits from one country to another is difficult wherever you are heading to.

Around me many people took exchange programs to Europe and only few of them got to transfer some classes that they have taken over there back in the US.

The best choice for you is to study Japanese alongside with Journalism, and then apply for exchange programs.

Since the system is different and what you study in college is irrelevant in Japan unless you are in the science related majors.

If your Japanese is good enough, I'm sure there would be many options available for you in the future.

There are English newspapers like Japan Times and Daily Yomiuri.

And also Sankei Shinbun has its North American version so there are many branches in the North America.

If you want to get into TV, CNN has correspondents in Japan so you might as well look into it.

OK, do you think i would be better off just going to college in japan?
