Newbie looking for some advise about working in Japan without a degree

Im sorry if this question has been answered before but I am brand new to this site. Everyone here seems very knowledgable and I am looking for a bit of advise. My boyfriend and I are from the UK and would LOVE to live in Japan for a while. Our original idea was to get teaching jobs. I have a degree and my boyfriend doesn't and everything I have read says he wouldn't be able to get a teaching job. In an ideal world I would like a job with accomadation provided. Every website I look at I reach a dead end. I want us to go together but I can't seem to find a way to do that. Does anyone have some advise on job agencies or specific jobs or visas? Ive heard about the working holiday visa? Are they hard to come by and how hard would it be for him to find a job there? Right now I am feeling really disheartened and am looking for some advise and a bit of encouragement. Any help would be immensely appreciated :)

This website has a job referral service for Working Holiday Visa holders:
Working Holiday / Japan Association for Working Holiday Makers

Apparently, they've been able to place high school grads in restaurant / hotel type jobs. Every other job site I've seen either required college degrees or Japanese language ability.

Here's the Japanese Embassy in the UK website for information on how to get a Working Holiday Visa:

Good luck finding a job in Japan without a bachelors degree. The Japanese government wont even grant you a visa without a degree.

She's from the UK, which means she can get a Working Holiday Visa - no bachelor's degree required for that. Still, finding work won't be so easy. It should also be noted that Working Holiday Visas are limited and unrenewable past a certain point, depending what country you're from.

Maybe your boyfriend could go to school why you work and get a part time job. Does your boy friend have an specific skills. Is he certified in anything like plumbing or something.

With a "waholi" visa and no university or college degree, it may be possible to get a job as a waiter or something, provided an employer can be bothered with the extra headaches of employing a foreigner. It's really not worth postponing your academic career for six months IMHO.

Why not just go backpacking for a couple of months in the summer instead?

I have to agree with Wasabista on this one.
