Other than the fact that it was a little difficult to get used to some of the bathrooms, I didn't have any real problems besides the language barrier -- and by extension, the slight culture barrier.

People were still people; food was still food; money was still money... And no matter how you try to hide the fact, I was still a foreigner in a country that is still very proud of it's own culture. It's only natural that I would feel like an outsider. Nevertheless, I still usually got a smile (regardless of it's sincerity) when I walked into a restaurant or store.

Those that say that Japanese people aren't polite... Well, if you piss them off they may be justified - as any normal human being would be - to treat you a little coldly... And even then, it's still a maybe.

I won't deny the fact, though, like many have said: Every country has it's ups and downs. Just as almost everything in this world has it's ups and downs.

Did you mean to applaud your own post, or the actual post five posts before mine? I'm confused.

I believe he meant that as a twice-told joke is always funnier the first time.

Oh ok. Well I don't always read all others' posts when replying to someone, my humble apologies Paul. Can you forgive me?

okay here's the deal, everyone along the way in life will hate/despise something. apparently on the first page i read, gloobey (sorry if i spelt your name wrong) seems to have found plenty of reasons why Japan is the worst of the worst. others who seem to be major anime fans, no insult to anyone, think that japan is great, then there are those who have been to japan and think that it is a great and miraculous country. Everyone has their own opinion and everyone seems to think that they are right. Curse me out if you will, but what i say may not be entirely true as well. we are all wrong and we are all right. who are we to know if no one argues back am i right on this??

i myself have never been to japan so i guess that i would not know where Gloobey is coming from(i apologize again if i have a spelling error) but rudeness, insincerity, racism, all the mean, horrible things that were said is all over the world. Because one has to be in the right spot or area for one to truly see the bad and the good things.

raise children in a bad town and the grow rotten, raise 'em away from people and they become naive or anti-social, raise them in a quiet town and they will eventually meet other rotten children.

in this world without one there is not the other. like a yin-yang sort of thing. everywhere in this world, there is good and bad. Like good moms and bad moms, good friends and bad friends, good siblings, and bad siblings, good words and bad words... hope you get the point....

and i was just passing by... hope i didn't write too much^^
