Clinic for transsexual people in Tokyo
Hello there,
I'm currently living in Tokyo and I have been searching such clinic for a while without any results. I'm suffering too much from my GID and wish to start a treatment. Does someone know of such clinic in Tokyo area? |
I don't mean to burst your bubble, but I don't know if Japan is as big on the whole transsexual thing as America is. You might have a hard time finding something like that. Your best bet would probably be to find a general therapist, and hope they have some experience with these issues or are a quick learner + very accepting
Good luck |
Transsexuals, or "new-half"s as they are called in Japanese seem a lot more prevalent in Japan than in the US. There is no taboo about going to a new-half cabaret to see topless dance routines.

That certainly is surprising.
I knew they Japan had a lot of crossdressers, but I had no clue they'd be fine with transexuality. MMM, how lenient are they on homosexuality? |

I would say gays are in general, at least tolerated. There are gay clubs and bars, etc. |
What about marriage? Is it allowed over there? Or is it the same as over here in the U.S.?

I could have sworn I saw somewhere in the media two Asian homosexual actresses were wed.
But, I don't remember what part of Asia they were from or where they were hitched at. I think they were B-rate celebrities though. :\ |

Japanese famous people have an incredible relationship with the media. Scandals are exposed, (especially affairs) but famous people's private lives are mostly kept private. |
