Moving to Japan for 1-2 Years
Hello everyone. I have just found out that I'm two months away from moving to Tokyo for 1, possibly 2 years (for business). Time is obviously a bit short, so I am searching for furnished/serviced apartments for the first few months. Is there any district that is recommended for a newcomer to get their 'bearings' in such a fantastic (and perhaps initially a bit overwhelming) city? I've heard of the Roppongi district, but I don't necessarily want to insulate myself in an expat bubble. Thanks!

I don't think there's a special area here where you'd get magically sucked into an "expat bubble" or a world of gaijins. If you choose to only associate with said people, however...
Apartment availability I guess depends on your money situation. Anyways, good luck and I hope you have a lot of fun here in Tokyo! I sure am. |
I'd Google, living in Japan and Moving to Japan, those are some of the best site.
You are not the first person to do this, so I'm sure it will work out fine. the less you know the better, it will make the trip that more exciting. Ask here for some housing agencies that speak English. Good luck !! Peace!:) |
Thanks for the encouraging words. I guess I'll just show up, hotel it for the first couple of weeks, and find a place that suits my situation.
See you in Japan! (...it could happen...:vsign: ) |
