I just find it so odd/interesting as all I have heard about Japan socially is that it's so "hands-off". I thought that was the whole purpose of bowing as to not touch each other. Also, I believe MMM said in other thread about how Japanese find hugging kind of awkward(I may be remembering this wrong, feel free to shoot this down) but when I was thinking about the whole Onsen thing, it doesn't match up. I guess I can just chalk that up to cultural difference. I guess I don't have to worry about getting my junk poked, male or female, as I'll probably be there when I'm 21-22(considering all that stuff is highschool and not college).

Then again I'm a more physical person as I like contact so I guess it wouldn't be too weird, take some getting used to.

I dont live in Japan, but thats just the girls act, but why didnt you notice that at your old school?

Trust me, I went to a High School in the U.S. where kids were especially perverted- but this type of affection (grabbing breasts, poking weiners were all things I witnessed in Japan) just seemed kind of... not Japanese.

Especially them grabbing my behind.

Another thing that happened was a girl walked by me and sensually rubbed my chest... you know like an up and down "oooooOOoO" Chest rub O_O

I haven't told anyone this lol.

I've learned a lot from this thread

Well, I have 2 theories then:

1. Your a stud
2. See 1.

But seriously, reading this thread has also made me bust some of my misconceptions. I went to a small private school in Houston for all my schooling so this is all new to me. I do have a few questions though, was this a school in the city or in the country that you were at? You said you went to High School in the US so did this happen in college or did you take part of highschool in Japan? Sorry if I asked questions you already answered.

:smokingbear: I am, indeed, a stud... that answers everything ()

But in all seriousness, the school I was at in Japan was a rural High School.

I only have experience with city schools, so I think that it is totally dependent of the area. It`s just something normal.

But... I hate to burst the bubble...

Girls never feel up guys they like. :P It`s something reserved for the joking friendly level.

"alanx? Yeah, it's reality. You've been avoiding me lately, and I really don't think that's too healthy."

My Aunt is hosting a girl from Japan and I actually asked her about this. She said it's just how they act to each other. And that they do this because most of them (especially in small towns) grew up together and know each other inside and out.

Okay Dr.Phil.

For girls who are especially close, you tend to grow
sisterly bonds between each other, so you begin to
treat them as a sister, and a lot of people do give
their close friends kisses and such.
Some of my friends have done the same, with their
boyfriend's present, and with no problems.

I guess these days, it's just another way of showing
your friendship and appreciation for each other.

Seeing as people aren't AS reserved as they used to be.
Sexuality is also much more open.

Guys probably do the same as well, but maybe not as
drastic as to kissing each other, at least it's not common
in the U.S unless it's family.
