Earthquakes

I only wondered if any of these regions were earthquake-prone;

- Kyoto (the city)
- Sendai
- Sapporo

From what I understand, Tokyo and Sendai often face strong earthquakes, Kyoto is relatively safe, and Sapporo isn't seismically active (at least compared to the rest of Japan).

I live in Kyoto prefecture, although not the city. I have lived here a year and experienced two minor tremors that were hardly more lively than a foot massage.

Japan is the best place to enjoy earthquakes. You are safer here than most other earthquake zones on the planet.

Last year I had the pleasure of enjoying a 6.8 and it also lasted about 45 seconds. Top fun for free.

How can you enjoy an earthquake when you know people are dying in them?

I would guess that people die in less than 1% of earthquakes.

I was in the Great Hanshin Earthquake in Kobe in 1995. That was a big one.

Well thank God you're alright, MMM.

I would feel lucky and blessed.

That's not something everyone get's to experience everyday.
