Find adress from telephone number

Hi,

I have the cell & home-number to a friend in Japan, and I want to send a gift to her for her birthday, but I dont have the adress. Is it possible to lookup the adress in any way?

Thanks in advance!

Can't do that legally.

masaegu: In Japan, they don't have a phone directory that lists address + phone number, if said owner of said number minds? I was thinking of something along the white pages, like we have here in the US, which is perfectly legal, apparently, along with reverse phone number look ups.

There is a phone directory for every town in Japan but you cannot go from number to address. All you can do is name --> number + address.

Besides, I don't think it would makes many people happy if they received presents by mail from people to whom they have never directly given their addresses.

Why not ASK the friend for their address?
I`m sure if you told them that you would like to send them a card or gift for their birthday, they will understand. If they refuse to give you their address for that reason - then it is pretty clear they do not want you to have it. If I declined to give someone my address I`d be utterly shocked and VERY upset at them if they researched it somehow and sent me something anyway.
