Leaving Japan
Well, am not sure if 'leaving Japan' thread should be under living in Japan, but here it goes.
I am leaving Japan soon. I have some household items which I can give away/sell. Does anybody know any second hand shops which I can call and they'll pick up the items? I'm not placing give away/sayonara sales ads because am working till last day. So finding it difficult to set time aside when I can be home and people can come and collect. Expect to happen it at a fixed time, if I go for a shop. There's a lot of other things such as taxes, disconnecting phone, internet etc. If you've been through this, I'd appreciate your tips. Cheers. |
Maybe i can help you...
Hi,
I'm arriving in Tokyo on April 3rd. If you're still there at that time, I'd like to pass by to take a look, because I'm sure you'll have something i need. some info: The last time I left Tokyo, the big thing was cancelling cell phones & other contracts. Depending on your bank (mine was Risona), you don't need to bother cancelling that because they don't have any monthly fees; they just close the account automatically if there is no activity for like 2 years. Good luck, and looking forward to hearing back from you! :ywave: |
See if theres is a Wonderex store in your area. They'll buy everything you have, from clothes to furniture. They don't pay much for the clothes and such, but it's better than nothing, and cheaper than paying for disposal.

Andrea, unfortunately I'll be gone before that..
Sangetsu, Thanks for the suggestion. I tried googling for Wonderex, but did not find any info. Any links? Or, any idea if there's one around shinagawa? |
