Tell again the Japanese school mentality
I read, and maybe common believe, that Japanese student take extreme care in their academic achievement. Quite the same as many Asian countries (again,a common believe) like S Korea, Singapore, China that parents extremely nervous for their children academic result.
Compare to western system, the parent looks more 'enlightened' and take school as educational system in more a lifeskill achievement. this mentally affect that the school overthere become more relax etc. Japan is now very succesful country, so, is this very much result of this mentallity or,.. not related. Do exam result really big thing in Japan? In South Korea I read the goverment even dictate the aeroplane flying schedule so the noise does not disturb the exam season, quite fantastic to me. The question is a bit blur, but just see what is your comments on Japanese school mentality. |

"Japan is a very successful country now...." umm.. are you trying to suggest that the education system is the driving factor behind Japan's economic recovery after WW2 and its success?? If so I would say your view is probably a bit misguided. Education can have its role, but in capitalist economies, innovation and creating new markets, and having efficient and competitive industries are much greater and more important factors involved in a nation's economic success. I am no economist.. but that would be my guess. |
