Buying stamps and boxes for mail - 11-13-2011, 02:50 PM

Hey again,

I'm wanting to mail things, both within tokyo and internationally. I've seen the boxes that they sell at the post office, but how do I buy them? Do I have to ask for them at the desk, or do they usually have a place where you take them to the cashier and they charge you there?

Also, for stamps. I'm needing some 80 yen stamps to mail some local letters. Do I just ask for stamps at the post office, or can I buy them at super markets/ konbini?

thanks in advance.

I think that's the best idea. Have you tried it before? I know some people are gun-shy about doing things, but getting out there and asking around is the best option for things. What's the worst that can happen? They say "no"? Get out there and get your feet wet!
