The point with my original post is I'm looking for a church in Japan that is a Christian church. I'm also looking for Japanese or gajin who are Christians, just because they follow the same religion as I do. As a result, I would be able to relate better to them since they believe what I believe concerning religion. This isn't to say I have a problem befriending people who aren't Christians because I don't.

then why didn't you say so in the first place?! is there a specific city you are looking at, or just anywhere in japan?

again, please check out the friends ads forum, you may have more luck there. also if you are going to be in tokyo, check out craigslist for tokyo. craigslist is a great place to meet like minded people.

Once again, religion is not a big thing in Japan. Many Japanese will consider themselves to be nonreligious. Many others who profess to be Buddhist or Shinto simply attend buddhist/shinto festivals or celebrate holidays just out of tradition. Many buddhist or shinto Japanese often get married at Christian churches... but they're not Christian at all :p. If you're looking for a Christian church in Japan, you will find some. However, like I said before, religion shouldn't be a really big concern in Japan, because really, no one gives a darn about religion in Japan anymore.

You gotta stop believing in everything you've read or 'researched' on the internet is true. Statistically, many people in Japan would appear to be religious, but they're really not.

In other words, it's just for show and it's all legalism (at least this is how it seems based upon what you're telling me). I didn't say I believed it, I said that as far as I had heard, that the primary religion in Japan was Buddhism. I didn't know how true that was.....
