Getting a haircut in Japan

Despite having graduated with my Bachelor's in Japanese and having spent 9 months studying abroad there, I never went to get my haircut, partly due to the fact that the places I looked at were all ridiculously expensive...

Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone who has gone through the procedure could share some useful vocab with me. Thanks!:ywave:

I have gotten my haircut there many times, I usually paid between 12 and 30 dollars US. Japanese barbers really take their time and I always find it a pleasant experience.

If you are going to Shinjuku, then, yeah, it's going to be expensive, but just a local barber or one in a mall like Daiei is very cheap, but 100 times better than SuperCuts.

I guess it was just the barbers in Sapporo that wanted to rob me then...hahaha.

At a lot of the stations they have quick cut places
10 minutes
1000 yen
:)

There are always some really hot ladies (and guys sometimes) handing out flyers in my town for a 4000 yen cut & blow (with a picture of a really lovely lady) :p

Yeah, just like anywhere else, they have the "range" from quick and easy to big and expensive...

Most of the people I've ever met handing out flyers were working for the karaoke bars...but then again I was out drinking...so...hmm...

Might I add that getting a haircut in japan was one of the best experiences I have ever had with regards to haircuts!
