the money to live comfortable depends upon which city you are going to be in...

Thanks for telling me!!! I've never travelled so I don't know that stuff.. I'm glad I didn't get too excited. I'm supposed to be starting my degree in '08 anyway... I guess I don't have any other options. Were you from US originally? How long have you lived in JP?

My name is Tom and I lived in Hashimoto-shi, Wakayama-ken from 1996-98 while on the JET program. (That's about 1 hour south of Osaka, by the way). I loved my time over there, and would really like to go back someday.

What kind of degree do you need to have? Also, I'm disabled...I can't work...but if my husband gets a working visa, I would get to go too, right? We both plan to be fluent in Japanese ASAP :P

I guess I could work as a translator for english speaking tourists...but after Nyo-sempai's horror stories I don't know if I could take it.

why does america have to suck so much...

Degree? depends upon what field you are in. Check the Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs site, the requirements for visa type is there. ( i think it was posted here several times already ).

yes you can come, I don't know the arrangement for that though. :ywave:

Maybe some aircraft bombing training and a parascope would help make sure your on target? course its so big you could almost fall in.

Any secrets to this or what :coldbear:

I am currently living in Hong Kong at the moment. Once while I was on a boat to Macau (Asian Las Vegas) those toilets were all they had... Try doing your business with the boat constantly rocking. It-was-not-easy.
