I don't understand these kind of threads.. Never in any real life situation do you go and ASK for friends, you just mingle and share interests and then BECOME friends..

Why am I telling you how to socialise..? Just go out and do it! Be yourself!

But the same rules apply for any friend.. alot of people here are very particular of the race of people they associate with.. why does it matter so much?

If your looking for someone who lives in japan, best way to do it is just play in Japanese language forums i suppose..

You can ask, but it doesn't work. I've only seen about 3 threads like this out of the billions that are on this forum that have gotten a reply from a Japanese.

Don't blame them though, I wouldn't wanna befriend anyone who begs for a social life either.

i also want frends from different places and different countries... so i would be happy to be friends with any of U!!:)

Thank you so much for everyone in this forum, yeah I've seen many threads who're eager to contact to Japanese! and for me, I think not only for me but for all Japanese, it is really really lovely thing that so many people from all over the world are interested in Japanese culture. On the other hand I'm really sorry that since there are few japanese people or people living in japan so you all couldn't find japanese penpal.
Of course I'm strongly interesed in foreign cultures too so that I really really want to talk to everyone but once reply a thread "Lets be friend", I fell like I must write everyone. So I can't write a letter or post card soon but I'm eager to talk to you. Could you PM me if you're interested?
