I will and thanks ...Sounds like ur a new fan huh?

hypekstatic 02-05-2008 01:56 AM

I noticed you used Aruarian Dance from Nujabes lol
I love NUJABES!

I'm a big follower of hip hop so I may come off blunt.
The lyrics were good, I can tell you put thought into it,
but it doesn't feel genuine to me, what you rap about,
it sounds generic in a sense that anyone can rhyme....
don't take it too personally, I know youre starting out,
but overall it was okay. I like your voice for one, your flow
is pretty good but just the lyrics didn't really affect me or
anything which is something I expect for using Aruarian Dance!
That beat has so much depth in the loop itself.
As I said, overall it was okay and I do think your flow is smooth.

Just a little advice though, I know it as just a demo, but
when you use random noises like talking or laughing, you
might want to transition it a bit smoother. It was hard to
listen to the middle of the song when you guys start talking
randomly. I see what you're trying to do though, alot of rap
songs have a conversational transition, but you really have to
make it work.

Anyway sorry again if I come off a bit strong, but I am
a hip hop JUNKY, and I won't let it go too easily xP
You are an aspiring artist though, keep doing what you do
and you'll improve.

Yo check out the "ridicuolus" track

Vesperd 02-06-2008 10:58 PM

hey Sphinx01, nicely done on that track dude.. im feelin it for real. Your voice is smooth and flow nice with the beat, i gotta say the instrumental was deep and promotes deep thinking, the lyrics goes well with the beat. Your voice sounds like the late Legend Big L, thats why i am so intrigued. But dont get it twisted, im not trying to define your style... your lyrics are unique and you have a smooth crisp flow thats what makes you nice for a rookie, what can i say? You have potential.

i gotta say, sorry to be the critic man; but the recording was pretty bad, not bad to the point it makes the track whack, but bad to the point your lyrics were hard to make out, and im a good listener. Your sequencing wasnt right there, as a poster said before me.. be smart when transitioning from rap to talking, heres a tip (im a rookie producer by the way), to make the conversation or voice overs stand out, add effects such as echo, pan, transpose.. do it all using good music softwares such as cubase and cakewalk.

Also slow down with the voices, leave a few moments for the people to think on it and breath, you throwing deep lines and not allowing us to have a few moments to take in your words, you nah mean? This track has potential to be a 5 min track if you add a chorus and a few hooks.

All in All, i like your style.. nice lyrics and metaphors and your flow has potential.. keep it up.

"trust is obsolete so my heart considers it deleted"
"if i dont dance with the weapon the battle is done"

do what you love doing, Hold tight Sphinx01 im down with real hiphop :D

DJ3 02-06-2008 11:20 PM

dat shit is type hott kidd.

Sphinx01 02-06-2008 11:21 PM

Thanks for ur words and tips..I'll be sure to get those programs...As I said before my time is never what I'd like it to be, and I'm always feeling rushed doing tracks on this laptop...overall these songs were rushed taking me about
15-20 minutes each

Vesperd 02-06-2008 11:27 PM

yeah you see what i mean? the longer you spend on making the track, the smoother the quality.. but yeah i also have respect for the people that make instant track, delivering the rawness.. but as a producer i like to take my time to perfect that record session; hitting every single note, or take my time to sequence and edit my beats so it sounds the way i want it.

Yeah respect to the guys on that DIY tip.. haha :D

Sphinx01 02-06-2008 11:36 PM

Wow lol...U know my homie/producer who coincidentaly is named "DJ" is the same way as u...He just didn't have the time required to perfect and hates the rushed jobs really.

Sphinx01 02-10-2008 01:02 AM
