it's worth it, and if they don't have, they will be able to order it for you :)

public libraries in this country are at least good for something ;)

New work:

Well I was searching through all my old files, and I found this, almost finished in there, so I decided to finish it off really quick. I must have used a reference for this I'm sure, so if you guys know what anime this little lady is from please let me know so I can post the reference link :D

It's not very good tbh but I'm sure I must have got that pose from somewhere, which IS the good thing about it :D

This is my first speedpaint [wasn't VERY speedy, 1 hr 30 mins] and I kind of like it. I think the skin could be more realistic and have more depth, but I like how the hair turned out somewhat. Good practice anyway >.< It's from the pic from my ID.

Pexster 03-03-2009 06:42 PM

Wow you are really good.

Painter? My sister is a painter.

Alastor 03-03-2009 10:26 PM

You've definitely improved! I really like those two drawings/paintings :D I'm not much of an image guy so I don't really know what to comment on. I think you know what you need to work on better than me anyway ;) The little girl that's sitting down, I could point out one thing though. The face/head seems a little bit too far away from each other and from the neck. I don't know if it's just me, but it looks like she's a bit of an alien in the shape, or wearing a mask... if you get me? I think it might be because the cheek line you drew there stops suddenly in the middle (probably because of the hair). If you'd look at the right side of her face...

Tordek42 03-03-2009 11:23 PM

The new pictures are awesome!! The second in particular is gorgeous :D

Keep up the excellent work

kinpatsu 03-06-2009 10:20 PM

The one of Miyavi looks phenomenal, and I like the Manor of Sleep video game cover. ^^

Ah that's cool. I think painting is really relaxing sometimes. I like water colours a lot, it's just nice to sit there and paint with them.

Thanks very much!

I totally know what you mean. When I looked at it I thought, eh, why did I do that? But then again, it's actually something I dug up from a while back, so that's probably why I didn't notice at the time.

I really appreciate all you guys commenting and critiqing my work. I have being go through such a bad art block recently, I was about to just chuck it all in and give up. I'm trying really hard to get back on track now, and nice comments helped. Thanks ~

So anyway, since I'm out of the grey art block of doom, I've done some other new works :)

Misa:

Her eyes are not in perspective D: This is something easily fixed, though.

L:

Admittedly, I didn't spend much time on this, but I think it still looks okay. It's L from Death Note, for my mate Kris.

It's my random watercolour lady! I like how she turned out, though.

This is my newest anime lady. I would really encourage some advanced critique if you have the time. I want this one to be good. I'm finding the hands difficult to fix and stuff. Thanks!

Love the Miyavi. I would like to see what's in your sketchbook. :)

noodle 03-10-2009 02:54 PM

Hmmm... Not too sure I like these (no offense intended). I kinda like the Miyavi sketch though. As for the others, I dunno, it looks like the stuff youngsters draw, kinda like edging towards P. Picasso in the sense that you draw things as a non-artist imagines them, not as you them, or as they should be (don't know if you understand what I mean by that)!

However, I gotta say your photoshop skills are decent! I can't do that type of colouring (I suck at photoshop lol).

EDIT: with that said, you're miles ahead of me on art skills. lol! My art looks like a 3 year old drew it :S

That is basically the opinion of my art teacher hah!

I do have drawings which are in a sense, more 'mature,' but I rarely upload them anywhere because I am forced to do them for art and I don't find it enjoyable. [These things include traditional portraits, life drawing, anatomy practice etc] They are traditional portraits and paintings which I think would probably appeal to you [the more mature person] more than the anime/bright/colourful drawings, if you know what I mean. I find that my artwork is a lot more popular with the younger people because they have a greater interest in anime drawings. My art teacher says that I am articulate with strong opinions, though I never express it in my work and it dissapoints her, haha.

I do think people underestimate the difficulty of anime styled drawings [not directed at you personally] - I find portraits much much easier. It's probably because of all the fine detail, the perfection in line width/detail and colour and the skewed anatomy that is involved in it.

I don't think I am a natural artist, like some people are. I worked hard and practiced, rather than had a natural flair for it that automatically makes my images unique or appealing. Hopefully that will come in time, though it might not. I will upload images of a different style instead though, so you can see what I mean by that.

My more 'mature' styles of artwork [some I enjoyed doing, others not so much...]:

Sorry I went on a bit there haha. Thanks for the feedback Noodle ^_^ I am glad that you are honest even if my art isn't to your taste.

I have more of this stuff to upload later ^_^

Ojamajoz 04-26-2009 07:31 PM

Oh, I love those! I really like how they're not saturated with too much anime shit. It's original; you're not totally copying someone else's style.

Very cool!
