Kanji_The_Wanderer 06-13-2007 01:23 AM

Shackled to the wall Onijin continues to show me my past. With each event that he shows in the clouds he goes further and further into my past, going back to my childhood. I try my best to ignore everything, and just think of a solution to this....

Somehow he slipped, and gave it away how he can control me. Just before he put me on this wall I told him what he had to know. I told him what he wanted? But what could it be? Then it struck me. By saying his name to him, that feeds him power. A demon has no control over you, unless you acknowledge it's presence. Once you acknowledge it, then it has control over you. Every time I said his name, it gave him a burst of strength and he was able to over-power me. So if I paid him no mind, and pretended he didn't even exist, his grasp on my soul with weaken, then eventually, I can turn the tables, and release myself from his room. Only, I hope such a method is possible. It may just be too convenient that I found this out so quickly. Well, it is his error for telling me exactly what I needed to know.

So Onijin, who was ignorant to my plan, went on watching my past and making comments every now and then. I didn't care, I thought of better things. To take my mind off him, I went back and thought of my first meeting with Ichirin and Nozomi that one morning in Disan. How long has it been since that day? We traveled by foot for awhile, so it must have been at least a month ago. Perhaps longer. We've all been seperated for some time now. The moment I see Ichirin ago, he dies. How could he just die like that? Who or what was the black figure with the flaming sword that slayed him? Did he already kill Ichirin? What about Nozomi? Was she executed? Did she escape that cell? Oh how I wish I could free myself of this and return to the Physical World. But here, in the Realm of Souls, I could do nothing. Even if I was to escape this room, it will not bring me to life. It will just end my torture.

In the Physical World there is only one way to revive the dead. One must search for the White Elven Scrolls of Life. I don't think the scrolls are in Etrirea. I searched all over this land many times. I had wanted to use the scrolls to revive Shima. But I heard a rumor that the scrolls were shipped out of Etrirea long ago. If there were it makes sense, I looked in every ancient Elven temple on this land. If they are on Etrirea, then they are in the remaining Elves's possession somewhere. My mind snapped back to reality when Onijin was repeatedly calling out my name. But I showed no emotion, even I even smiled at him for his stupidity, he would strengthen, for smiling is acknowleding his presence, and he would have the advantage. All I did was close my eyes. He then started complaining that he was bored and that I was no fun.

Let him say, think, and do what he wanted. Soon he'll lose his edge, and all his powers will fade away........ Nozomi, Ichirin, Swiftant, and that girl Myzura. You all must survive this. Defeat Shakura and live happily, Nozomi, don't be sad when you find out that I'm gone. It'll only make things worse for you. When you bury me, I want you to keep Sora as a memorabilia.

My mind continued to wander. If I leave this room, will I be able to temporarily connect to the Physical World and tell them all my thoughts on this? Can I somehow give them all a morale boost from this other world? I hope my demon vanishes soon....

Kanji_The_Wanderer 06-14-2007 01:53 PM

After some time of not doing what he says, Onijin is trully pissed now. He keeps on yelling at me and telling me to answer him. "I am your master you worthless piece of trash! Obey me now!" His words mean nothing to me. I will never respond to such a fool. Doesn't he understand? He should be smart enough to know what I am doing. Instead of yelling at me he should be trying to make me speak to him. I just keep on pretending that I'm sleeping, even though there is no need to sleep in this place.

Just a little bit longer. I tell myself. He is already starting to break under the stress. If he doesn't strike fear into me, then he'll lose his abilites as a demon and disappear. Not a moment to soon I open my eyes as Onijin starts to shout out in pain. I don't look at him, I don't want to take the chance that he'll get stronger. His smoke body begins to evaporate. "Nooo! I am the master! I am the guardian! This is my domain! Ahhahhhh! Curse you Tatsu! Burn here forever!" Onijin's body starts to heat up and bubble. Within seconds, he vanishes into a cloud and is gone. The darkness of the room goes away as well. All that is left is this four-walled room, I can see it clearly now.

Now the walls start to disappear as well. In minutes it all is gone. I fall to the earth. I am in a grassfield. But the grass is dead and brown.

So I managed to escape my torture. Onijin and his room are completely gone. I can finally be relieved. No, I can't rest, there will never be rest in Hell. For all I know, I might walk into the hands of another demon and go right back into one of those cells. I look up, there is a sky in this world. But it is blood red, and the clouds are black. There is even a wind, but it is ice cold, and it blows a chill right through me.. I stand up from the ground. Is there even anyone else here like me? I wonder. I begin to move around and not far from me is a willow tree. An old man in robes is sitting at the base of the trunk. Half his face and arm is covered in bandages. This tree or this man was not here a moment ago. When I escaped Onijin there was nothing out there. But strangely it is here now.....

(The old man that is before me is the same old man that Ichirin saw when he got his new powers. He is a guide, we all just see him a different way).

"Tatsu." Speaks the man in a raspy voice. "I didn't expect to see you here so soon. This is quite troublesome that you have already moved on." The man sighs and straches his head in disappointment. "How do you know me? I don't believe we have ever met." I move towards the man to try and see if he is a demon. But his eyes aren't like their's if he is one, then he is a good fake. In fact, his eyes were dead and light blue. He must have been blind when he died. The old man notices my gaze and smiles. "I can see you, you know. I may have been blind in my life, but in this world you get back everything that you lost. Like your eye and hand. You got those both back didn't you?" The old man laughs. "Surprised by me young one? Well don't be, I am here to help you. I am one of those tough spirits. I don't lose my powers when I die. In fact, I am immune to the demons, and I have become stronger then ever." The old man reaches out, and grabs his cane, he then lifts himself off of the ground. "I am Yogensha. I have the ability to travel through dimensions and give faith to the powerful...I have been watching over your group for some time now, and I must say, the lot of you impress me. Not many people in this day of ours are eager enough to protect the world....The dragons have lost sight of themselves. We used to live together in harmony, and help this land together. But time has made them arrogant, and they turned on us. I don't think they deserve to be eradicated. They just need to be taught a lesson so they remember what this world used to be like."

I don't say anything. I am not sure what to say. "It is good to see you taking this all in Tatsu." Yogensha smiles at me again. "Since your untimely demise, I am not able to fully help you. I was able to help your friend Ichirin. I gave him remarkable powers." So that is why Ichirin looked so different. He was even looking at me before that black figure pierced that sword through him. He was looking at me. His eyes were shining in the darkness, vision was healed by this man. "I am dead. I know that. There is no way to return, in this world I have no magic. How can you possibly help me?" I begin to grow sad again. I felt so hopeless.

"I said I was not able to fully help you. I am only allowed to give one gift to a person. My powers will not work on the same person twice. You are dead, but I can change that. If you were still alive, I could have made you more powerful then ever. I could have given you even greater magic. I could have made you an Archimagus!" Hearing this news from him pisses me off. But it can't be helped. Saving Ichirin was just in my nature. I couldn't let him die like that. There was just no way. I drop to one knee and place my hand on the ground. "Yogensha, I am honored to be aided by such a powerful being such as yourself. How did you attain such power?" Yogensha's face becomes sullen. "It is a sad story. My ability has just complicated my life. It killed me. Now I use it to aid young ones in different dimensions. If helping others save there world is how I will spend eternity, then it makes me happy....Now go Tatsu. Leave this world and return to the living. Your friends need you."

Yogensha puts out both his hands and smiles at me one more time. "You have great fire within" With that said, a great white light surrounds me. The red sky starts to fade, and the frozen earth starts to slip away.....I am returning, I feel immense pain as my soul rips through the dimensionial planes, I am going back to my body...Nozomi, wait for me.....

Kanji_The_Wanderer 06-19-2007 03:08 AM

Once the white light disperses, and the immense agonizing sensation leaves me, my surroundings whirl about. There was a brief feeling of nausea. When my eyes focus properly, I am laying upon a soft bed of grass. The sky is gray. It looks as if there will be a rain shower at any moment.

As I tried to move about, my body was stiff, and it was hard to move. I was unsure of how long I was dead. After some struggle, I was able to sit up. I looked around and couldn't see anyone or anything. Was my body dumped here? Why didn't I come back inside of the prison? I look down to my right, and my arm is there, my eye as well. My clothes were different though. Instead of wearing my usual brown cape, with green tunic, and white shirt and pants, I am wearing a black vest, with a long sleeve loose fitting dark blue shirt. My pants are black and tight to my legs. There are brown boots on my feet, and guards around my wrists. A pouch is behind the back of my belt, and a dagger is fastened to my leg. My cape was not on me. This outfit is surprising. But I am more surprised that Yogensha was able to revive me with all of my limbs intact. It is trully amazing, being able to see out of both my eyes again.... There a gentle wind, it blows my hair lightly. The clouds slowly roll back. With some time, I am able to get to my feet. Suddenly, I remember Inferno, as my gaze shoots down to my left ring finger, Inferno is not present. Neither is Sora. Well, it makes sense, all my weapons were confiscated the moment I was taken a prisoner...... I walk south for a bit, the more I walk, I still don't recognize my environment. I have traveled all over the land. I never forget a place. How can I not now where I am? As I stand bewildered, a familiar voice laughs in my head. "Hmmmm....what is it Tatsu? Don't like where you are? I'm sorry, but it's the best I can do."

I know the voice. It's Yogensha's. "No sir, no need to apologize. Reviving me, was a miracle all in it's own. Although, I would like to know where I am." Yogensha laughs "Why of course. I brought you to the Northeastern tip of Etrirea, past the Dragon's lair. This is the closest I could drop you." I start to think, Drop me? What does this mean? "Sir, why couldn't you return my soul to my body? My body is inside of the Dragon's prison with my friends. They are in need of my help!" Yogensha is silent for a moment. "You are very anxious Tatsu. But do not worry, your friends will be fine. In the state a soul is in when it is reborn in unfit for combat. As you experienced, you were unable to move properly for some time. What could you do in that situation other then be a burden to your comrades? For the sake of your allies, and your for own well being, I dropped your soul back into this world, away from the battle. I put you in a vacant shell." A vacant shell? "What do you mean? Dropped me in a vacant shell? Is this not my body?" Yogensha is quiet again. "I am sorry Tatsu, but I had to. There was no other choice if you had wished to come back to life. The body you inhabit now is indeed not your own. The body you have is of a warrior that just passed not long ago by a dragon soldier. The man was similar in composition to you. Do not worry, with your soul in this body, the features have changed to look exactly like you. Now you are able to make use of both this man's arms. When everyone sees you, they will be shocked, they may think that you are a ghost, but they will recognize you. For the body looks exactly like yours."

At this moment, I don't know what to say. "So this isn't my body? I stole it? ..... How humiliating." Yogensha's voice is gone. I do not hear it anymore. Well, let's see if these legs are mine. If this is my body now, it should work the same exact way as my old one. With quickness I sprint through the grass, to the southwest, I must make haste to the Dragon Lair.

Swiftant's Return part 1

*Picking up from where I left off - both Suzette & Swiftant had a physical misundersanding, which resulted in Swiftant fainting, right after he confessed his love to Suzette ^__^*

By SuicideSuicide aka Suzette:
Quote:

I tried my hardest to stay standing but the pain in my thigh made me fall down next to Swift. Had he really meant what he just said? I didn’t expect the guy that had just tried to kill me a few seconds ago to love me. His motionless body rests on the ground next to me. I was still trying to figure out all that had just happened when it dawns on me that Swift might die. I pulled my body up on the wall of the cave and tried to walk towards the opening of the cave to try to get help but the excruciating pain made my crawl towards the opening. I knew no one would be in the town below us, but I had to try and get help. I looked back at Swift one more time. His face was growing paler and paler by the second. The puddle of blood that surrounded his body grew.

“Swift, I love you too. Hold on ok?” I whispered to him, like he could actually here me. But after saying that, I somehow found the strength inside of me to get up and walk to the town nearby. I ran into a house and I found some bandages and other things to help Swift get better. I opened a cabinet and found a weird bottle that said “For bad injuries. Dangerous if not for bad injuries.” Well, it’s either this or nothing I thought to myself as I grabbed the bottle and hobbled back to the lair.
"Anger, coldness, cunning, evil, revenge, and self-reproach...", a ringing voice of alternating sources as each word is pronounced directs itself to me.

"Who... What are you?", I cautiously ask.

Thinking: My companion isn't normal. He lacks any readings of existence. I can't sense a vestige of life from him at all. With the magnitude of darkness disabling my sense of sight, I can only inquire the cause of my confusion.

"What am I? Hu hu hu... I think the more pressing matter at hand is who you are...", the anonymous sound closes in.

"I'm-", I pause, my mouth opened, in surprise at a failed attempt to name my identity.

"Are you now?", the voice sniggers, "Your origins, your way of life, your purpose... Do you not possess any of them?"

There is a moment of silence, as I muster the best of my arrogance and tenacity.

"Too bad, I guess... I don't need any of that which you speak of.", I answer it.

"A bold suggestion... But no one can live without anything..", the voice begins.

"Suggestion? Hmph, I'm not just anyone.", I cut in, "My will to survive all odds bears witness against your criterion."

"Hu hu hu... Well-said... Let I, Yogensha, put your words to the test, then!"

As the entity speaks, the space in my vicinity distorts. The darkness whirls and gradually sets a formation of six mirrors, before sliding away to the sides, leaving the lifesize mirrors to surround me.

"Anger, coldness, cunning, evil, revenge, and self-reproach...", Yogensha iterates.

An amazing sight greets me: Each structure is concealed with an element: The first is in flames, the second frozen in a block of ice, the third oozing with poison, the forth retains black as its original color, the fifth is in the shape of a gravestone, and the last one is covered in bloodstains.

"Fiery; Frost; Venom; Shadow; Vengeance; Kamikaze, reveal yourselves!", Yogensha cries in his reverberating voice.

**Yeah, I'm back! XD~! Geez, I didn't realize how difficult it was to adjust my mentality for writing again >_< Kanji, SS, and all the others, my apologies! =D I'll continue later in response to your other posts, when I'm not so exhausted.
Edit: The scene above takes place in my unconsciousness, by the way.**

Swiftant's Return part 2

"Fiery; Frost; Venom; Shadow; Vengeance; Kamikaze, come forth!", Yogensha cries in his reverberating voice.

As soon as he commands, the atmosphere intensifies. I feel as though a heavy force of unimaginable power is crushing everything between the uppermost part of my body to the ground.

My heart skips a beat, in the process of my inspection of the unbelievable phenomenon. Right there and then, six pairs of hands stretch toward me, connected to the planes of the mirrors themselves! One by one, my reflections come striding out of their fictional dimensions, each with both Zeus and Raijin equipped as weapons. Their faces are completely emotionless and their actions seem lifeless, as if a ventriloquist is manipulating them, of his will.

Abiding by a will of my own, I immediately clasp the katars, to level the playing field.

"Using my abilities against me, huh...", I mock Yogensha for his lack of creativity.

"Technically, not. But I imagine their strength should bring this battle to an equilibrium, at least..."

"Fine, let's see what you've got."

"Attack.", Yogensha instigates.

The look-alikes suddenly charge relentlessly at me, the blades of their katars pointed at my heart and head. Dodging their barrage of potent swings and cling clangs, by hurling my lightweight body onto the mirror planes and hopping to the other, I manage to analyse their speed.

"Hmph, and to think I thought I'd get a challenge out of this...", I calmly say, to nowhere in particular.

"Don't you get it yet? Where're you're in... This is YOUR mind!! Behold the midst of your subconsciousness, with every negative aspect you've ever experienced!", Yogensha exclaims.

"I'll admit I'm a little disappointed at myself, for being weak-minded, but it doesn't change the fact you're still going down, Yogensha.", I proclaim his premature defeat.

"Is that so? Even if your mind has become my puppet? Very well then, unleash...", Yogensha gives another set of commands.

Almost instantly, a tornado of fire heads in my direction. I sideflip, nearly getting caught ablaze, just to be targeted by balls of ice that freezes and breaks anything they come into contact with. Using my multiple image technique, I boost my evasion of those quite easily. To my shock, a dozen black figures rise in front of my images, without exceptions, and slash at them. Simultaeneously, they fade away as I leap backwards to avoid being dealt the same fate.

Thinking: What is this sense of nostalgia spreading through me? Why is it growing more vivid by the techniques my reflections strike me with?

But I do not have time to try reminiscing, because in the meantime, one reflection has shot arrows at me, five at an interval. I hardly escape from its destructive properties - an arrow infused with venom at its tip burns a small hole in my cloak. Reasons sufficient to quickly find myself sprinting around in a constant cycle of patterns. My eyes catch a glimpse of two reflections, who aren't bothering to even lift a finger in the chaos.

That's it! I run at them, flinging my shurikens at both while I do so.

"Uuurgh!", a stabbing pain presents itself in my chest.

Thinking: Did the other four's attacks hit me? No.. They're still a good distance behind...

I glance up to the two stationary reflections. My shurikens did not fail me. One of them has a deep gash in his forehead and the other has one lodged in his chest.

My eyes widen. On the former's head, the skin on the edge of the shuriken are reaching to each other! I watch in frustration as the wound heals up and the shuriken drops to the floor with a clunk. These two are the direct unlikes of one another: The skill of regeneration and pain-infliction.

"Give it up, no one can withstand to the negativity in themselves. Resign yourself to me.", Yogensha says.

"Like I mentioned... I'm not just anyone.", I tell him, engaged in a hit-and-run combat against the six reflections at the same time, "I am...."

My struggle to recall my identity shoves my mental state of oblivion into a zooming film of my flashbacks: How my village was destroyed, how the dragons lied to me, how I had slaved for them in the hopes that they'd help avenge my village's honor, how Shakura had betrayed me, how, in the end, I had finally found companions who were willing to share my dream...

Thinking and smiling to myself: Heh, I suppose this is the second time my memories have saved me, eh..?

"I am...", my eyes glow crimson, "SWIFTANT!!!"

CoolNard 01-31-2008 01:08 PM

Swiftant's Return part 3

"AAARGHHH!!!", I scream, in an explosion of fury lightning from the core of my body, entirely annihilating whatever that invaded my mind.

Seconds passed. Then minutes. Nothing is lunging for my throat, the mirrors were shattered everywhere.

"You have done excellently, Swiftant."

Thinking: Yogensha?! How could it...

The form of an old man begin building up beside me, particle by particle.

"You still haven't answered me. Who are you?", I inquire again, this time, with my usual proud tone.

"I have already stated it. My name is Yogensha.", he keeps quiet for a moment, screwing his face up in thoughts. "I am a millon year old spirit who have developed my supernatural prowess over the millenniums. Strangely enough, it's become my interest to travel via dimensions and provide faith for the strong. I render help to people, in ways I deem best for them."

"So, it was..?"

"Yes. It was fundamentally a test of courage. A test to see if you have what it takes to claim the heads of your most powerful enemies... at one go..."

I look at him blankly.

"You were able to defeat yourself and hence, have been granted new powers, not from any magic jewellery, but from within yourself.", Yogensha claims.

This is to much to absorb, it is really too wonderful to be true.

"Your friends...", he continues, "are the reason you live, are they not? They're worth the value you place upon them. Each and every single one, indeed. I have met them myself actually, pretty nice bunch you got acquainted with."

"You mean you've...", but before I can go on any further, Yogensha holds up his palm.

"It's time for you to amend the flaws in your life. Make it up to her, alright?", Yogensha winks at me childishly.

"But I still have things I want to clar-", obviously, the old man has a knack for cutting people off halfway when they're talking.

"Now GO!!", and darkness falls unto me once more.

******************************************************
"You who calls himself the DragonSin... It was an interesting encounter... Thanks for the fun... Hu hu hu..."

The next thing I know, someone is sitting me up, urging me to drink something. It doesn't afford me long to recognize who it is. I gulp down every portion of the strong tasting liquid. The rough flavour on my throat causes me to cough, and the impact, in turn, causes my eyes to open and stare straight into Suzette's. I start to act on the first thing weighing on my mind.

"Suzette, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. I wasn’t thinking.", she puts one finger on my lips.

Thinking: Oh geez, another cut off..? >_<

Suzette leans in, her breath on mine, her bossoms resting against my chest. I can count all her eyelashes, her seemingly poreless face. Her hair curtains our faces, giving us all the privacy we need... And I feel her moist lips touch my own, tentative at first, then gently prying them open with her tongue, and teasing me a little.

Suddenly, she pulls back, quivering, and quickly gets up, before running off to the entrance of the cave. I peruse her with understanding. From that view, she looks exactly like an angel in prayer. Following my intuition, I slowly walk up to her figure and delicately put my hands on her shoulders, like I am treasuring a fragile artifact. She spins around in surprise, unintentionally prompting me to release all my love for her into a smile, which tells her all I want to say, without words.

"I know what I did was wrong, but, it just felt so right.", Suzette ashamedly mutters, not daring to set her eyes on me. My hand grabs hers in protest.

"I know what you mean and what you're feeling. I'm feeling it too.", I confess blatantly. I yearn for her kiss again, letting myself fall into her.

(Oh well, there's gotta be an anticlimax somewhere... So...)

All of a sudden, I spot something in the horizon, it is the color of midnight sky. I motion for Suzette to stick behind me while I check out the incoming object of flight.

"What is that? I've never seen something like that before."

"I don't know, but whatever it is, it's coming right at us!"

**Alright, Kanji or someone, you're up next. >=)**

KAZUHIDE - The Meeting

**Remarkable posts Nard-kun! Absolutely stunning! What a great way to re-activate the story. I hope my posts have the same awesomeness as your's**

KAZUHIDE

Fayuro beats his black wings hard, as our altitude decreases, we pick up speed and fast approach the Dragon Caves. Through the rushing wind beating on my eyes I can make out Swiftant along with one of the other Dragon Army members: Suzette.

Surprise fills me. What is Suzette doing here? This will affect my ability to talk to him in secret. She must be removed. If my plans to make Swiftant defect are discovered before events can be set into motion this shall cause a problem for my old Master.

Nevertheless, I continue to descend up the caves. As we approach the ground, I fasten Swiftant's sakkat with strings to my belt.

Fayuro lands hard, the ground cracks and breaks under the power of his mighty claws. I softly rub Fayuro's thick scales.

"Good job my friend" I speak in a soft whisper.

I stand up from Fayuro's saddle, as some thoughts rush about in my head like a baby dragon playing with his mother.

I doubt Swiftant knows who I am. We have only had acquaintance once before, it was a long time ago, soon after I first arrived here. Shakura had called a meeting of all Army officials and we both were present. My master always had me watching Swiftant. I hadn't known why, he never seemed anything great to me. Dragon's Kin never sat well with me. Eveything about their righteous indignation I despised. They felt they were the rightful rulers of this land, and they hated and destroyed all who opposed them. Like children crushing ants because they could, and wanted to show off their power over the weak and helpless, wanting to feel as though they had to prove some sort of point to all the rest. It overwhelmed me so that I could not bear it.

I focused my thoughts, and forced myself to consider the matter at hand.

Suzette as here, along side Swiftant. They appeared to be having a very intense moment.

But they had always appeared to be enemies of some sort. Why were they here? Why were they together?

I slid off the side of Fayuro, and walked slowly over to the Cave. The sakkat swayed back and forth at my waist. "Swiftant!" I called out. "I need a word with you!"

The dawn of a new breed...

*Man you guys really raise the bar each time. Am I jealous or am I jealous >_<* ^^

Well if two musketeers can do it then so can the third (and roleplay was one of my favourites anyway )... here goes nothing...

Chapter 1: Rebirth

Unbeknownst to either Kazu, Swift or Suzie, turmoil had started within the land. The shedding of dragon and human blood had reached it's fiercest peak in the long battles fought so hard. The land was tainted with the sorrows of the dragons and cry of their hopes... it was speckled with the corpses of the humans and the pain of their agonies.... The air stood heavy with the thick suffocation of revenge... the wind sang their deathly laments... and in this musical charade the land stood to respond with a voice of its own.... from a cave hidden deep in the mystic boundaries of the forest of voices.

Deep within the fiery heart of the land a conciousness awoke from it's slumber in the vastness of Ether. With a sudden but swift decisiveness the clouds around the forest center joined thick in union forming a solid boundary of condensed air. The light of the sun blacked out and the gathering clouds turned dark and sinister. A sense of immeasurable power pulsated through the land. The air filled with purpose and black clouds began swirling in a dizzying vortex. The sense of power grew stronger and more pronounced, the clouds swirled faster into the vortex... A sudden searing vertical shaft of light lit up the forest. It burned the land and pierced through the dark firmament. Time stood still across the forest. The universe itself seemed stalled to watch the scene. The throbbing sense of life and presence palpated through the forest. The very earth seemed alive and awake. The tall trees cowed down in awe and fear, their heads bent low lying prostate on the ground. Lightning bolts rippled from the dark vortex and struck the timid branches below. Burnt cinders flew from trees ripped asunder. Dried leaves burst aflame scattered around in the demonic wind like an eerie dance of fireflies... Amidst this grisly cemetary of beheaded trees a spark of conciousness suddenly spoke...

"Eaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!" A terrible scream echoed through the ether. Tendrils of thought arced chaotically around surprised with their existence. The spark continued... "What age is this? Where am I? What are these blood memories I perceive? Kinsmen murdered... oaths betrayed... a deep evil treachery... vengence is at hand... a deed must be done and I am the only one to do it... I am the only one, that CAN do it... I am the only one, born to do it... I am... alive!!!!"

A flutter of gigantic wings echoed through the dark and a burst of red hot flame gushed through the cave. Trees afar and nigh transformed instantly to ash. Brown sand charred a deep black in a matter of seconds. The searing heat vapourised the clouds above. As suddenly as it had appeared, the shaft of light vanished. Bright sunlight burst through the vapourised cloud cover. As the first beams of the golden sun reached the earth, all that could be seen for miles around was charred black ground and scattered ash. What once stood as a mystical forest now lay charred as a cremated corpse. The mystical forest of voices had been broken.... and walking away from this scene of blatant massacre, TENSHOUJIN paced forward with determined steps. For a moment, a gleam of vengance and determination shimmered bright in those red eyes, but in a trice they were gone. The eyes took on a clear blue shade, silky black hair fell parted upon his head, rippled muscles lay as testimony to the vanished wings. In his first few steps, whisps of smoke rose from the ground, burning the very ash that lay there but like the rest of his features the smoke faded and his feet turned human.

Awake, Alive and Astute he marched ahead... for ahead.... destiny waited...

NEW character:

Name: Tenshoujin (Heavens destroyed benevolence)
Breed: Dragoman (Half Dragon Half Human)
Height: 6"
Weapons: Materialized fire sword and summonable fire shield protection.
Abilities: Dragon magic, but these are untapped abilities that will develop over time as Tenshoujin learns from his blood memories.

Vulnerabilities: Invulnerable to elemental damage. Absorbs strength from fire and lightning attacks. Specially vulnerable to chaos and confusion spells but when driven into frenzy is more likely to transform and use powered attacks against friend and foe alike.

Appearence: Not overly muscular but a chiselled form with smooth black hair parted at the center. Eyes are clear blue and his face is angular. He wears no head gear. He wears a black garment with a red outlined dragon emblem on the chest.

Additional details: Tenshoujin is an oddity in nature. As a hybrid of dragons and humans he has the ability to transform into his "dragon" state. In this state, his appearance mimics that of a dragon. he grows a sharp tail, talons, wings and his eyes burn red. In this state his magical abilities are heightened greatly but he loses the ability to fight with a sword or use the fire shield. His fire breath is lethal and the hot flames are capabile of burning even ash. As with his human state, his magical capacities and control are limited initially and require development over time from his blood memories. Anger is a trigger for sudden exceptionally skillful and immensly powerful use of his power but this is a rare event.

His origins are a mystery and the secret to his birth and existence lie in forgotten memories embedded in his mind. For a long time he lay trapped within the cave in the forest of voices suspended in magical sleep. The planetary alignment and the rift between humans and dragons triggered the conditions for his birth. His only reason for existence is to achieve a single goal. What this goal is, is still undisclosed and all that is known about it is that it involves an ancient legacy and the dragon queen.

Allegiances: None. He keeps his own counsel since he has just come into existence. He will step with those that aid his goal but never truly be part of any team other than his own.

Tatsu: New Chapter ~ "Revelation"

** O_O Shino-san! That was one the best, most descriptive posts I have ever read! It makes me want to step up my game and make myself write even better! Bravo, I take my hat off to you!**

TATSU

With quickness I dash descending the Northern Plains. The nebulous sky grumbles with a coming storm. I must make haste to the Dragon's Lair. Deep inside a spiraling tower I would find my target. Ichirin and Nozomi. The two of them are very much alive. Fortuitously, this new body I had come to inhabit was much more agile and energetic. My old body was much more brawn. Even though rigor-mortis had begun to set in, this body sprinted at what felt like a thunderbolt soaring through an ominous cloud. Was it because of my desire and prudence to save those who are in distress?

Regardless of my emotions, I was making quick progress. The Lair's Tower was coming into view. Suddenly, the sky opened up and a rainstorm crashed down upon my head. Last time I was in a storm like this, everything was being taken away from me, and I was damned to suffer alone and shackled within the darkness, just before my life, and the life of a close friend was snuffed out.

My thoughts antagonized my concentration. Mud and water splattered my clothes. The boots I swore grew heavy, and clambered about in the mush. But this did not slow me, my speed stayed constant and did not wane.

Yogensha! I shout in my head. Are you still there?!

.....Silence.....

"Certainly Tatsu. I may have not informed you of this earlier, but when I aid a soul, I am with that soul through all the trials of his life until the end of his days. I can guide you along your Path of Destiny. I cannot affect what you do, but I can influence you and direct you to do what you need to accomplish."

I am not entirely sure of what you are trying to say sir. Are you telling me that you will continue to lend me your immense powers?

"Ho, ho." Yogensha laughs. "My powers? Well in a sense. Most of the time, I give assistance to those who are alive. My powers increase their's greatly. So imagine the affects it has on the Dead?

I go quiet in an attempt to process what this means.

"Don't get it son? In giving you a new life, I had to put my powers into your soul, to attach you back to the Physical Realm. In doing so, you have received a portion of my abilities. Thus imbued, you can do what I do....Can you feel it? Can you feel my powers? They are a blessing to you. You who's powers are sealed within yourself because you have banished them out of freewill. Now these powers you yearn for. Why do you think you can not acquire them? Your Elven powers that you were born with..."

I- I don't know.

"Indeed. When you can answer that question, then your goal will be for-filled. For now, go to your friends. With my powers inside you, I am sure you can feel their souls if you look beyond your own view."

I thought of Ichirin and Nozomi. Just then, I could feel them! I have to hurry!

I ran up the steps of the Prison Tower and moved inside the Tower's Main Hall.

** Hope it was okay. I'll wait for Shino-san and Nard-kun before I continue along with these two characters I have created. ^_^ **

** O_O Aoshi's first post here just like, pwned everyone else's X__X**
**Kanji's latest post is in a neck to neck race with his =P**

Despite of our still intangible distance, I raise fair attention on the alarmingly enclosing eclipse, my array of pugnacious instruments a hair's width from my wield. Focusing on its travel towards us, Suzette and I hold our ground, allowing the sunlight beyond to assist our queries, by molding its details symmetrically - a dragon with a viciously scaled hide as black as night, and indiscriminately riding on it, a shrewd-faced man of slim built, decked in an outfit no brighter than the dragon.

Intriguingly enough, the smaller of the two triggers the impact of a first impression, etching an establishment of vague but familiar vibes emanating from him.

"Suzie, is it me, or has he came here before?", I ask out of curiosity.

"He seems... recognizable...", she murmurs uncertainly.

Thunderously, the black dragon plummets its powerful claws into the earth; its intimidating shadow looming over us, in an inescapable sanctum of loss. The man slides gracefully off it and strolls in our direction, his movements casual, ironically agile. Something dangling by the newcomer's waist credits him careful emphasis... - my sakkat! No mere human strength would have sufficed where and when it could have been retrieved.

"Swift... There's no way...", Suzette whispers, her tone appalled.

"Who cares, I'll just have to get it back.", I assure her.

"Swiftant! I need a word with you!", calls out the stranger.

I dive at him with fierce velocity, my red eyes burning ferociously at the area his body and my sakkat contact.

"First, that's mine!"

**I sooo need to get back into practice XD.**

KAZUHIDE: ~ "An Unexpected Encounter"

**Hehe Nard-kun, we both made the same face when we saw Shino-san's incredible post. I thought you said Swiftant wasn't going to fight Kazu? Oh well, I guess I have no choice but to oblige him! XD**

KAZUHIDE

I had approached Swiftant and Suzette quietly and calmly. But my sudden appearance in front of the two did not bear a warm greeting.

The moment I spoke out, Swiftant had dashed at me at a great speed. His eyes shot a crimson stare into my own. As he moved closer and closer, cutting the distance between us, like a coming comet into a celestial object, his feet made like sound as they feel upon the earth. He dashed at my waist, in what appeared to be a malevolent attempt to reclaim his sacred item, and at the same time take his sudden aggressions out on me.

I had little time to jump back, in the seconds I had, I removed Jet from my back. Time felt it had slowed, my heartbeat elevated, I swung Jet upon Swiftant. My blade was clashed into his katar. The weapon he had in his hand now, was not there but a moment ago. He was much faster then I anticipated. A head on collision with him, would spell my defeat, I didn't want to hurt him. That was not my desires nor were they my intentions, I wanted to his ally, this reaction of his was most unexpected....

An unexpected encounter....

I could feel his strength as he forced down on my naginata, and fended off my attack with one hand. In a futile attempt to keep him at bay, I struggled to hold him off me. He wanted his sakkat, and he wasn't going to stop until he retrieved it.

With a great surge of desperation and sheer will, I was able to knock him from me for a moment. I flipped back and landed on Fayuro's head, Swiftant stumbled back for just a moment and lunged at me again, joining me on top of Fayuro.

What was this strength?! Surely he did not have that tremendous tenacity before.

"Wait! Why do you attack me?! I am not your enemy! Listen to what I have to say before you decide to do this!" I attach Jet back in holster on my shoulder blade. Quick, I pull out a twisted dagger and hold it down to Swiftant's sakkat.

"If you do not co-operate and listen! Then you can say goodbye to this treasure of yours! Just hear me out!"

Swiftant grew still. I knew he was assessing my demands in his head. I did not know what he would do now....

With trembling fingers, I looked past Swiftant for just a moment. Suzette was just standing there. A look of concern and shock had come over her.

Fayuro growled under his breath. He was waiting for my word, before he threw Swiftant from him.

I think to myself. I don't want to have to use that technique. But I will if it comes to it.

**Okay, not half as good as CoolNard's but I hope it will suffice.**

*O_O'... O_O"...x.x'... if you guys write any better than this I'm gonna have to quit! :D. Outstanding posts the both of you!!!! Cooly as usual making stunning posts with those flavoured adjectives  and Kanji-kun just magnificent with those fight scenes. I can practically see the fights happening as I read about them. I'm just luving the way this story develops... whoots!*

Sorry I wasn't online yesterday, had some important stuff to take care of at work and I have some travel coming up as well. But in the meanwhile, Tenshoujin's agenda needs to progress...

Chapter 2: The Feeding

Swirling colours dazzled around him, vivid greens and ecstatic blues. The sky stood glittering with a myriad hues, every single colour calling out to his senses. He felt the movement of the wind, he tasted the moistness in the air, he perceived every movement around him, every blade of grass, every glowing cinder and every single wisp of ash... They seemed struck in slow motion and standing where he was he felt he could direct their poetic movements like a composer beckoning a virtuoso. A sudden acrid smell of fire woke him to reality. The movements and colours turned normal and the smell of burnt wood reeked stronger around him. His dragon vision had subsided and his senses mimicking his appearence turned human as well.

Broken images of fire and destruction flashed past his brain. Screeches for help mixed with cries of valour distorting his senses even more. Buildings turned to ash, castles lay ravaged and razed to the ground...the sound of falling mortar spelt doom to those who lay below... The scene suddenly vanished, only to be replaced by a shining bright blue. It shone so magnificently he could touch it's sparkling rays. Standing next to it he felt warm and alive... What was this glow? Where did it come from? Did the crystal reflect a light from elsewhere or was the source of this illumination within it? He reached out to touch it...

*Hsssshh* *Crunch*

Another rude awakening... the images were gone and all that lay clutched in his fist was a smouldering bush. Tenshoujin hung tightly to the thread of reality. He fresh birth had granted him great power indeed, but it had cost him much sanity in return. He knew he could not dwell on his unbidden thoughts swiftly though they assaulted him. He had taken on a mortal form and he needed to replenish his strength. Weakly, he looked around...

He sighted a stray deer on the path ahead grazing on grass. He moved forward to reach out to it. The deer didn't react at all, it ambled on its own routine seemingly unaware that a predatorial hunger stalked it. Tenshoujin's reach grasped thin air... What was happening? He knew the deer was ahead. He could see it clear as crystal. Why then did his fist touch nought but wind? Was this another memory? Was he in another spell of hallucination? He closed his eyes and wished his memory away, feebly searching for reality again. Slowly, his heart calmed and his sanity came closer at hand. He opened his eyes again...

The deer was gone... but so was the path in front of him. All he could see around him were shades of black... their uneven medley hinting a horrific incident. He stood confused again ... what was reality now? Which of his two visions were real? Driven by hunger, he walked ahead... ten feet later he fell again. The urge was getting stronger by the minute now. His frenzy was building in him, he knew he needed to feed soon or he would lose control again, sinking into his chaotic memories. For yards around, there was nothing but burnt ground and charred wood. Desperately he grabbed at the ash, ready to feed on anything that would keep his nightmares at bay.

The hot ash burned his throat and he stifled a sudden urge to yell. The desperation for food still clung to him. Urged by his frenzy he shoved another handful down his throat. The burns were sharper now…but was that proof that he was closer to sanity? Powered by this thought he sank his face into the ground hoping to gulp as many crumbs as he could. Six mouthfuls and severe burns later he realized the ash hadn’t helped his hunger at all… however it had triggered a response… he was a being of fire and the burning cinders had pushed his frenzy over the edge. He drew strength from fire… at least his dragon half did…

A sudden burst of wind scattered the ash in every direction, two loud flaps resonated through the burnt land, a hundred feet in the air, Tenshoujin spotted the deer again. For a moment he panicked worried that he would sink into his cursed memories again, but quickly he realized the truth. The deer was not a hallucination nor was the green path upon which it grazed. The grass and the stream weren’t figments of fantasy that his mind had built up for him. They were real and they existed…three mountains away!!!… His powerful dragon vision had seen them clearly from this far. He shuddered at his own skill for a second... Another beat of his powerful wings and he rose higher into the clouds. A herd of cattle ambled away to the west kept restrained by a flimsy wooden fence. Smoke came from nearby houses. He counted… there were 12 houses in all. A small village then… he committed this piece of information in his memory... he would need it later. For now though, there were more pressing problems at hand. His immediate hunger had to be satiated.

He turned his sights toward the deer again. It remained unaware, grazing happily in the watered meadow. Little did it know that death was upon it bearing down more swiftly and surely than any prey had ever known. Tenshoujin whistled through the clouds, his dazzling speed leaving streaks of shredded white clouds as a mark of his trajectory. The cool wind filled his lungs and calmed his mind, but the cold also sapped the little strength he had managed to absorb from the measly ash. He knew he couldn’t risk powerful strokes to aid his speed but he desperately needed food regardless...

AoshiShinomori 02-02-2008 11:43 PM

...A sudden black out and an assault of more memories stunned him...

A vision of a crimson sky with the vermillion sun fading away in the horizon… the same cool feeling of breeze, the same thrill of swiftness… this was a hunt… Far away he sighted a herd of huge creatures, towering over the land yet grazing as docilely as the deer he had marked for lunch. A whisper of thought blended into the vision… Margoth…

Who was Margoth? A slain kinsman? A treasured friend? A hated enemy?... The whisper of thought urged louder… not who.. but what… The vision focused more clearly on the enormous creature ahead… the voice spoke stronger now… MARGOTH… He slowly began to learn… this vision was from a margoth hunt. The creatures ahead were margoths and their short lifespans were now running out fast as doom from the dragoman approached.

The vision unfolded faster in fast forward, yet he still grasped all it had to offer. The dragoman beat his wings hard and gained surprising altitude. The margoths were now little black dots on a tiny bushel of land far ahead. The dragoman inclined downward, hunger and killing etched deep in his eyes and began his dive toward his prey. At first he glided on the wind, but with each passing movement he gained tremendous speed. He seemed to dance upon the wind drafts like a happy fish at sea. Faster and faster he plummeted toward the herd. The black dots grew bigger and the land raced forward faster like a mother embracing her long lost child.

With the same fluid movement as his glide, the wings now stretched and quickly curved back winding tightly round the dragoman’s body. With the precision of hunting shark the dragoman twisted his neck at the same time that his wings wound in and made a corkscrew movement in the air piercing through the clouds. He gathered speed swifter than he ever had before. He was now a twisting bolt of air grinding toward his prey. If he had danced on the wind currents then, he was literally cutting through them now. Nothing stood in his way.

The herd of margoths below heard nothing and felt nothing, they grazed placidly on their morning meals… With the speed of a striking snake, the dragoman launched toward the middle of the herd. Beside himself with excitement, Tenshojin watched the memory. The margoth at the center of the herd seemed like the definite target, completely unaware of the approaching death hammer from above.

The vision turned to slow motion now as though specifically stalling to make a point… The same whisper of thought again… “Watch closely for nothing is as it seems. The only obvious deduction is the unexpected”… Tenshoujin focused on the vision. What did this riddle mean? The obvious deduction was that the juicy margoth in the center was about to outlive it's purpose...

The vision continued... Like a bolt of lightning on a clear day the dragoman paced toward the herd center. Everything stood still as though chiselled from stone, the wind lay passive as he cut through its currents, the grass lay frozen like a lake during winter, the margoths stood eerily unmoving, the head of the pack right up front stood halfway through an eye-blink. At the very last moment when crashing seemed imminent, the dragoman fluidly made another neck twist out of his corkscrew dive and stretched his wings out on the air currents. The vertical descent of his dive now transformed into a burst of horizontal speed… he whistled right past the herd center heading instead toward the head of the pack. Just as he was almost about to miss the herd altogether, he stuck out his claws to slow himself a glimmer and with perfect timing, grasped the margoth, still three quarters through the blink. The dragoman arched his tail and tilted his wings upwards just a little. The whooshing air currents now picked him up and he rose into the air, this time with the margoth clutched victoriously between claws.

The vision resumed its normal pace. The herd resumed its pacing only slowly awakening to its tragedy. Panic rippled through the herd as it realized the pack head was missing but by now the dragoman was cleanly on the mountaintop feasting upon his kill...

The dark shadow had fallen and vanished within the blink of an eye… the entire move was impeccably graceful and poetic to watch and as it unfolded its deadly rythm all that was left to sing its testimony was a dead carcass on a mountaintop. One less margoth now stood to graze on the greenery below…

The vision vanished, and reality returned. Yet again, Tenshoujin took a moment to adjust. He was still in the air gliding toward the deer. The deer was in the same stance as if stunned, and the wind still flew past him rejuvenating the cold burst of discomfort. The vision had come and gone in an heartbeat but it had left Tenshoujin wiser. His lack of strength did not bother him now, his inability for powerful strokes seemed a redundant fear. Tenshoujin knew what to do. There were no strokes and no power required… just precision aerobatics and focused reflexes. Tenshoujin had learned from his memories…

With a swift change in angle he melded perfectly with the wind currents gliding on them as he had learned from his memories. The lake and meadow loomed up in front of him. With a twist of his neck and tail, Tenshoujin paced into the dizzying corkscrew dive dipping his angle further. He knew now that he shouldn’t dive straight for his prey but rather incline his dive behind the prey to give him space to steady out for the kill.

As the nearby trees watched, a black bolt of lightning struck the ground behind the deer. Not a single speck of dust was scattered. A heartbeat later the ground stood clear. The grass swayed free from its herbivorous enemy...A hundred feet up in the air, a dead deer hung in Tenshoujin's talons. Giving into his carnal craving, he dug into his first meal. The strength returned to his newly formed body. His grip on sanity tightened. His fear of his visions slowly abated.

As he landed on the mountaintop, he thought back to the days events. In all that had happened, the glowing blue crystal still stood out in his mind… A search was at hand… his destiny was linked to it. He still feared his nightmarish memories… but the day had taught him that he could learn from them as well. He knew he had much that lay ahead of him and he would need every bit of tutoring he could muster.

Sunset had fallen and the blue sky now turned crimson, its heavy shades of red and orange adding a soft glow to the dragon emblem on his chest. With strength in his limbs and purpose in his eyes, he looked toward the village in the west…

**Amazing as always Shino-san. Your usage of the English language is amazing as ever. Such incredible writing talent!**

TATSU

The storm rolled away, and the rain subsided. Slowly, the moon climbed to it's place in the sky. The sun had passed into slumber, and the night was filled with a thousand dancing lights. The Prison was filled with darkness. Only candle flickers illuminated the gloomy hallways. I proceeded inside. I could feel the souls of Ichirin and Nozomi somewhere in the basement level.

Water dripped from my clothing. With each step my boots made a monotonous squishing sound. I found the nearest spiraling staircase and proceeded down into the bowels of this maddening place.

Within a few moments I was in the executioner's sector of the Prison. This corridor rang with reminiscence. I was here before, this is where I was captive. My cell of torment was located off to the left. I turned to clarify my coming thoughts. Suddenly, my heart stopped and my blood ran cold. I gulped as I looked down at a motionless figure. I knew what it was that I saw. The candles on the walls only passed a glow on what I was staring at.

I swallowed deep, and my throat burned. It was me. Or at least it used to be, lying there, dead and frozen. My hair was over my eye, and my skin had already changed into a gray tint.

I quivered with fear. I stopped. Listened. Everything was silent. Not the faintest sound could be heard. A pool of blood was escaping from my body. As if it longed to be free from my vessel.

I couched to one knee. Sora and Inferno were still equipped upon my old self. I removed the sword attached to my belt, and placed it upon myself, along with my brown cape. It was drenched in blood, but I hadn't cared. I had that cape for as long as I could remember. The bloodstains would merely add to it's history and character.

Carefully, I removed Inferno from the dead cold grasp of my former self, and placed it upon me once again. Moving it over my left middle knuckle, down the shaft of my finger, and placing it there.

"Tatsu? Is that you?" Inferno's frail voice filled me. "Yes it is me. I have returned. From the depths of Hell, I have somehow crawled my way back to humanity, back to the realm of the living, and back to those I love."

"So you desire to re-instate the pact do you?" I smile cooly. "Indeed. Please lend me your power once again, I can use all the aid I can muster.....

I'm so weak and pathetic on my own, I need others to go on. Without other's power, I am nothing...."

"As you wish." whispers Inferno. I leave the glittering ruby ring upon my finger and rise to my feet...

Ichirin and Nozomi are here waiting for me.... I back away from my body, and round the next corner. With a quick action, I steal one final look at my first life. "Farewell."

I move on.

With ease I found Nozomi's Cell. The main gate had been destroyed. Ichirin and Nozomi were holding each other in a corner. Nozomi was crying. Her sobs filled me with happiness. Not because I found enjoyment in her tears, but for the simple fact that I am seeing them again after what felt like an eternity.

Why hadn't they escaped by now? Why were they still here? Had she given up all hope that she had stayed here to die? I wanted to approach them. What would they say to me? Well, it didn't really matter at this point. We had to leave, and run far away. To our escape!

After intense contemplation, I brisk into the room. The coming footsteps startle the two. Ichirin clambers to his feet. "TATSU?! Tatsu! How is it possible?!!" For one of the first times I see Ichirin cry, and he cries for me. I should be honored that I had received such note-worthy affection, but I feel just downright awful.

"Yes it is me Ichirin. But I have no time to explain. We must escape!" Nozomi comes and throws all her weight into me. Her eyes twinkle in mine. She buries her face into the muscles of my chest. I clasp my arms tight around her, and pull her into me.

"Tatsu, I don't know how you are here, but I must leave. I left Myzura alone, and must re-join her." I nod at Ichirin, and he vanishes in a light.

Nozomi looks up at me. Still in awe. I rub a tear from her face, and brush back her hair. "Tatsu...I'm just.....so glad" She hugs me tight. This is the first contact with another living thing I am having in this body. Her warmth proves to me that I am alive.

"Come on Nozomi, we must not waste any time." I look around. Guard's bodies litter the ground, as well as the Knight with who had wielded a flaming claymore, the one who killed Ichirin. He was dead as well. " I heard the guards earlier." says Nozomi. "There is an exit one floor above here. It brings us out to the grasslands. If we head south from here, we can run to Asgard."

"That's my girl." I smile at Nozomi. I grab her hand and we run up a flight of stairs. As we reach the next landing, a small unit of guards head towards us. "STOP RIGHT THERE! PRISONERS HAVE ESCAPED! SECURITY HAS BEEN BREACHED!" I draw Sora from it's resting place.

The guards line up before us.

"Lay down your arms!!" I shout at them... My eyes narrow.

"Or die....."

Suzette: Friend or foe?

**I dunno, I ain't Swiftant XD He may have reformed his ways, but his personality stays true ^___^**

Thinking: Is reality maligning me? Isn't Swift renowned for being an undisputed fighter? And yet, he could only have forsaken his sakkat in a duel...

"Swift... There's no way...", I blurt out my thoughts.

"Who cares, I'll just have to get it back.", he confidently declares, his motion edging contentiously to our visitor.

"Swiftant! I need a word with you!", he announces, unaware of imminent danger.

"First, that's mine!", already unhesitatingly discarding any feasibility of reasoning, Swiftant plunges to claim his prize - be it sakkat or blood, I do not have the slightest prospect.

After a series of mind-numbing entanglements in a battle waged by Swiftant's rash nature, the stranger proves to be a decent fighter. Enlightened to the futility of snatching his sakkat, Swiftant pulls his arms backward, only to swing it forward in a vigorous crisscrossing pattern, aiming for his opponent's neck.

Upon noticing Swiftant's motives, the man stealthily bends to his rear, in a direction parallel to Swiftant's attack's, neatly avoiding his death, before attempting to launch a lowkick. I survey them with readiness to intervene, apprehensive of the future and for Swiftant.

Uninfluenced by gravity, he hoists his body to the cave wall and disappears into the upper depths of the cave ceiling. Condensed water droplets continue dripping onto the cave's inhabitants, unconcerned with current events. Swiftant's adversary has his eyes closed; probably trying to hear out more motives.

Without warning, his eyelids wind up and he abruptly jumps behind, brandishing a black naginata, with a golden dragon pattern on it, in the process. I feel a sudden gush of wind bellowing from the top... Swiftant has returned to view, in the form of a tornado! I can recognize that technique: He does it by letting himself fall onto the enemy headfirst, twisting and swirling his whole body into a rapid spin, followed by holistically thrusting his katars' blades in front of himself to smash his rival to bits.

*CHING!! SHHEEEEEEK*

A rain of sparks pour out of the collision of their weapons, as the whole cave reasonates with the clash.

"Not too shabby, didn't expect you to actually stop my momentum...", leers Swiftant. I watch Swiftant's menacing smile glowing from the sparks, the veins in his eyes bulging with blood. I lift my fingers to touch my lips; feeling them curl into a grin as well. It has been a while since I last saw him in serious action.

Clearly out of desperation, the stealth-suited man manages to push Swiftant back, and leaps onto his dragon's head, Swiftant at his heels.

"Wait! Why do you attack me?! I am not your enemy! Listen to what I have to say before you decide to do this!", the man attach his naginata back in the holster on his shoulder blade and shrewdly pulls out a twisted dagger, and holds it down to Swiftant's sakkat.

"If you do not co-operate and listen! Then you can say goodbye to this treasure of yours! Just hear me out!", he shouts threateningly. Swiftant pauses in midway of exhibiting another technique, of a similar magnitude to his last.

"How dare a scrawny audacity like yourself threaten Swift!", I yell.

"What makes you think I'll abide by the rules of someone who doesn't deserve it?", Swiftant says, as I get over with being a sitting duck.

"The destruction of your sakkat, along with all its sentimental value?", the man says, unable to contain his sarcasm.

"Which, in turn, may result in us destroying your dragon?", I snap, in an equally sarcastic retort.

"Hmph, I don't share an intimate bond with my armor whatsoever; they're meant to be destroyed eventually anyway. I'm just irked that it was touched by your filthy hands. Now, give it to me, Suzie here isn't a woman of words alone.", Swiftant subtly finishes, and resumes his fighting stance.

KAZUHIDE: "An Unexpected Encounter" Part 2

KAZUHIDE

After all of my attempts to end this quarrel in a positive manner, Swiftant's and Suzette's arrogance defied everything I was aiming to accomplish. Even with his sakkat on the threshold of being destroyed, he continued to advance on me with ill will. The woman was fond of forcing her way into affairs that hadn't concerned her.

Her shrewd tongue was starting to poke at the edge of my annoyance. How dare she threaten Fayuro! Slowly, I backed further down the body of my dragon friend. Swiftant stood with his katars at the ready. His crimson eyes burned madly, as he scanned me up and down. Waiting and looking for any unexpected movements.....

Then, with no notice, Fayuro starts to violently shake. As Swiftant regains balance from the jostle, I dive at him, grabbing Jet by the side of it's shaft, I knock the metal into his katars, and push him back off of Fayuro's head. He flips backwards, as he twirls into the air, his foot impacts into my jaw. A sharp pain runs up my face and digs deep into the bone... Swiftant lands upon the dirt, crouched with both hands on the ground.

Fayuro beats his wings, and takes off into flight. Swiftant, utilizing his powerful legs, jumps straight up, and grabs upon the leg of my dragon...

Suzette tries to run over quickly, and jump onto my dragon as well, but by the time she reaches our location, we are already too high into the air...

Now many hundreds of feet over the cave. I have the advantage over Swiftant....

"Now let's try this again!!" I say much more stern then my last attempts at a conversation with the DragonSin.

"Will you listen to me? Or risk your sakkat's destruction?!" With my words, Swiftant climbs up the side of Fayuro, and kneels perched above the dragon's shoulder. He is processing my words.

"Please Swiftant. Just hear me out." I place the twisted dagger back into it's hiding place, and grab the sakkat firmly with two hands, to make sure that he could not break it from my grasp.

My lips curl into a half grin. "Shakura needs to die doesn't she?" Swiftant's eyes widen a little when my words travel into his ears.

"You desire revenge on her...Do you not? I also want her death, and together, along with others, we can make that all possible."

To prove my worth to Swiftant, I carefully toss him his sakkat. He grabs it with one hand as it spun towards his head.

"I don't want to fight. I merely want to talk. Giving you your sakkat is proof of that. You could leave, now that you have regained your treasure. But if you do, then you won't hear how I came to acquire it, or my plans for the dragons."

We were very far from Suzette now. There was no way she could hear our voices, as the wind blew into the air. Night was descending on us fast.

**I am making it night, to show that everything that is going on, with Swiftant and Kazuhide, Tatsu and Nozomi, and Tenshoujin, and are happening at the same time.**

I have time for just one post before I crash and I promised Cooly and Kanji that I'd make it on this thread. So here it is...

Chapter 3: The night sky

Night had fallen quickly and the august trees now bent low in sleep around him. The last tremulous rays of the sun had bid their good nights to the greenery signalling the entrance of the moon. The moon in turn had taken this cue and had crept across the night sky to illuminate the subtleties of the dark mountain. Tenshoujin looked up at the sky. It was a cloudless night and the stars were close at hand. He felt he could reach out to them as they sparkled beckoning him in a tease. Each glimmer from the firmament reminded him more of the precious jewel he sought. What was it and why did it call to him so? He hoped that his memories would remind him, but all he felt was a satiated stillness. The meal of the deer and his effort to gain it had filled not just his stomach but also his mind. Weary from the day’s efforts and surrounded by the sleepy trees, Tenshoujin felt goaded towards drowsiness.

The village in the west was still quite a distance away and he knew he couldn’t afford to waste more time stargazing. Casting his drowsiness aside, Tenshoujin spread his wings and rose into the air. The breeze was cooler now and the stars closer still. The rushing wind dropped the temperature further but Tenshoujin flew well protected through his thick dragon hide. Not for the first time was he pleased to have such a strong body, immune to the elements. Unless weakened, the clouds could well have been throwing hail at him and he would soar right through regardless. The green carpet of trees below passed by mile after mile with dejecting monotony. The detour to catch his prey for the day had pushed him further away from the village than he would have liked. Flying toward it, however, kept his goal in sight and fuelled his motivation.

He looked toward the village again. The same 12 houses but only seven lanterns. That meant that the remaining houses were either empty or its inhabitants had retired early for the day. This bode well for his plan for it meant that he either had a place to stay or that there were old people residing in the village. If he received a nasty welcome, he could use the elders as hostages. He snickered… Humans always cared for their elders no matter how much they complained about them.

As he neared the village, he spied an encampment of sorts in the woods at the city's outskirts. Intrigued, he descended a short distance from it under the cover of the sleeping foliage. He silently made his way toward them. A hundred feet from the encampment, he stopped and focused his hearing.

“…damn autocracy is driving us to the brink Soren. If we leave here without the loot we will have to cut down our ranks. We cannot expect them to hold together with the bad run you've brought us this month”

“I know Batisha, but these are innocent villagers. They are not the rich that won’t feel the pinch of our plunder. They are not the greedy who deserve the despair we dish out. They are farmers and honest folk making their daily lives”

"Humans!" Tenshoujin thought with disgust. No matter how many ages passed, they would never improve... He continued to listen to the conversation...

*I'm saving the next two pages for tomorrow ^_^. G'night y'all!*

Chapter 4: The betrayal

Batisha continued...

“Hmph! Your soft heart is matched only by your soft brains. You can’t see beyond your emotions Soren. This is a time of desperation. Much can become moral at such times”

“Blaspheme not Batisha! Your greed for gold over rules your curiosity for courage. Theives we may be but we steal not from avarice. We steal from necessity! Our crimes come from good not from evil Batisha and you would do well to remember that!”

Batisha snorted...“You call me greedy and claim my ends justify my means, yet it is you who speak of crimes from good and evil. A crime is a crime Soren and your hypocrisy bears no judgement upon me. The necessity you so forcefully speak of is upon us whether you see it or not. I will not let you lead us into hunger and abject poverty. I have felt it before and I hold no fond memories of it. You have tonight Soren. Think wisely. I hope you won’t disappoint me in the morning”… Batisha turned to leave…

Compelled with rage, Soren pointed at Batisha and cried out…“Not tonight and not any other night Batisha! You can have my answer now. I hold my compassion higher than my hunger. There is nought in the world that will move me to raid that village”

Batisha spoke slowly in a cold whisper, his every syllable rung with hatred and malice…“That kind of thinking is what got us here in the first place”

*sshshing!* *Gasp!*

The sound of unsheathing followed swiftly by the murky sound of Soren gagging on blood rang clear in Tenshoujins ear. Whoever batisha was, he was clearly a talented swordsman. The blow was fatal and decisive, Tenshoujin could assess that merely from the sound of the attack. Soren did not have much time left... His voice feebly continued…

“..B..Ba…Batisha… you traitor…” … Soren coughed up more blood.

“Rest well Soren… and may you be happier in the next life..”

“..if..I.. d-die… who will lead you to the treasure?... It’s gleam is now l..lost to you f..forever..”

Batisha snorted… “I never believed in the treasure you spoke of Soren. Nothing could possibly shine as bright as you describe it…”

Tenshoujin tensed. What treasure did they speak of? Was it the gem he sought? Too much rode on chance for him to risk. He knew he had to confront these humans…Soren in particular probably held important information. He had to be questioned before it was too late. The time had come for action...

Jumping from his hiding spot, Tenshoujin made an inhuman leap to the clearing fully intent on gaining the upper hand through surprise. With a stunning blast Tenshoujin landed in front of Batisha and bared his red eyes on him.

Batisha barely flinched. He merely looked peacefully at Tenshoujin as though welcoming a guest…. It was Tenshoujin’s turn to be surprised. What was going on? This human may be talented but an ambush like this caused reaction in even the most courageous of men. The only way the man could stay passive was if…. No! that was impossible! This had to be an ambush. There was no way the man could have known about him before. Tenshoujin didn’t want to believe it.

He kept a passive face and surveyed Batisha. There was more to this man than met the eye. It would not bode well to underestimate him.

Batisha smiled. “Welcome stranger! You’ve arrived at a most opportune moment. For a while now I have been pondering the means of my comrade’s murder. You see, his life has always been easy to take, my tracks have been the difficult ones to cover.”

Tenshoujin still remained silent.

Batisha hurled the sword toward Tenshoujin. His dragon vision easily saw the trajectory of the sword. He caught it deftly with his right hand without moving an inch.

Batisha continued.. “Oh! Impressive reflexes. There is no-one in my ranks that could have done that and I have some of the finest men in the land. Clearly you are not ordinary…”

Batisha squinted into the darkness boring into Tenshoujin’s red eyes. “Interesting... what are you? You have sharp features. Are you an elf?”

Tenshoujin didn’t respond…

“A mute elf then?” Batisha laughed to himself “It matters not. With your adroit reflexes you’ve now got the murder weapon in your hands. All that’s left to complete this sorry charade is to cry for… HELP!”.

Without warning Batisha yelled the last word into the night calling for reinforcements. Within moments a dozen well built fighters appeared at the scene from all directions. They wore black armour with a silver crescent etched on their shoulders. They were warriors by the look of them…

TATSU - "Return to Freedom"

TATSU

The guards formed a nice little perimeter around us. For such a small unit, they were able to assemble quickly. Their dark armor gave off an eerie glow as the candle flames danced about them.

Brandishing silver long swords, the men moved in closer. Nozomi, who was weaponless, backed behind me. She firmly grasped my arm, and put her head behind my shoulder. Out of the corner of my eye, I glanced at her, she was afraid. For one of the first times, fear had come over her. Why was she so scared? Has being in this place for all this time stolen some of her humanity?

I grip Sora firmly. "Drop your blade worm!" The lead guard hissed.
"You are the worms! Vile peasants of Shakura! You place sin upon humankind with your weak minded ideals of freedom! Do you seriously think that Shakura is protecting you?! You think as long as you do her bidding then you are free from her tyranny?! Think again you fools! When she claims the land do you think she'll let you survive?!"

The guards resentment grew. "You cur! How dare you speak such poisonous words against the Empire! In the name of her Holiness Shakura, we will cut you down, and display your head to her on a platter of gold!"

With blades drawn, they creep in closer. I hunch over, and bend my right leg, and maneuvered into a battle position. The lead guard snickered, and charged at me head on.... "Fool" I muttered. With ease, Sora cut through his armor, and tore asunder his flesh and bone.

My enemy fell, face down. He had no time to react to my blade, he was dead before he even stepped. The other guards followed suit, and joined their commander in the otherworld. The ground was now lined with corpses and fresh blood. The candles shined in the pools of red creeping across the ground, and illuminated a path...

Quickly, we had found an exit. I was surprised that no other troops had come to investigate the commotion on the basement levels. I guess it's too be expected at this time of day. The day usually switches with the night shift right about now.

Outside a breeze of cold air rushed by us. Chills ran up my back. My clothes were still mostly damp from the rainstorm earlier. I would have to find a change of clothes.

Back out in freedom, Nozomi's spirit returned, and she started to jump about "It's so nice out here! Don't you think Tatsu! Oh it's so nice to be outside! I was in there for too long!" I gave her a smile, as she was flailing her arms about. "I'm starving too! We have to find some grub!"

I gave a hearty laugh. I was so nice to be like this with Nozomi again. I never thought happiness would shine down on us again. I don't know what it was, but being in that place, well, it sucks all the life and spirit from you. That feeling made me think if there was some sort of darkness spell cast on the prisoners as they entered.

It no longer mattered. The moon and the stars were guiding our way, and outside, with the soft grass padding our feet, everything seemed pleasant....
I looked about. We would have to move west, past the Dragon Mountains, to leave the Dragon Empire. South is the Headquarters, the Dragon City, so it would be best to travel into the mountains, and try to rendezvous with the others. Perhaps Swiftant had better luck than us, and found other troops to help us launch a secondary attack on the dragons. Asgard turned out to be a total loss. Nothing good came out of that ordeal.

"Nozomi, let's move west. We have to leave the Dragon Territory if we want to be fully free. Let's go to Disan."

Nozomi looks at me and shakes her head "No! Disan is a bad place! It's a trade town, someone might notice us and go and tell the Dragon Army where we are! Without doubt we definitely have bounties on our heads by now!" This is true. Disan is far too risky.

"Then what do you suggest?" I ask curiously. "Let's go to a town south of Disan. A little town. A friend of mine, named Aisha lives there. She helped me, when I didn't know anything, she let me stay with her, after my "birth"."

"Okay, let's go then!" I call forth Gana, we climb upon her back and begin our climb into the sky, west to the Dragon Mountains!

Chapter 5: The Summoning

Batisha ran to the body of Soren and embraced it with sobs. “Soren!!!!” he cried “Why didn’t you call for help sooner? I would have rushed here to guard you with my life.” He flashed his eyes at Tenshoujin and looked back at Soren’s choking body “An irony that you would meet your fate at the hands of another thief! On the valour of our ranks I swear I shall avenge you this night!”

Batisha turned to the soldiers and spoke “Brothers! This thief has slain our captain. If all we have fought for together ever means anything, then it lies in our hands to spill his blood tonight and avenge our fallen Soren.” Batisha pointed at Tenshoujin and screamed “Kill him!” As he said so, a gleam of hatred reflected in his eye and a wicked smile adorned his face.

Batisha looked on gleefully as the soldiers pounced on Tenshoujin, their weapons flashing in the moonlit night. Time slowed down, as the spears and axes bore down upon him, Tenshoujin looked up, caught Batisha’s eye and smiled right back….and vanished.

Time resumed normally. The soldiers hit thin air, and wildly began looking about for Tenshoujin. At the same time a whisper crept down Batisha’s neck…

“I’ve known that you were aware of my presence ever since I landed. It was my intention that you believe me to be around. I had initially planned on joining your ranks to infiltrate the village, but I believe the information I seek is not in the village but right here”

Batisha gasped in wonder, surprised that Tenshoujin had gotten behind him. “What a..are you?”

Tenshoujin hissed back, his wicked smile wider now, “I’m certainly not your timid elf.”

“You humans are despicable. For years you’ve preyed on one another running yourselves to extinction. But in your punishable greed for bounty, it was my clan that paid the price. For what little it counts, I shall savour a portion of my revenge this night”

Tenshoujin leapt back and mocked the soldiers “Your puny swords and spears wouldn’t tickle me on my deathbed. Now feel the wrath of a true blade”… Hatred and vengeance shone bright in his eye. Tenshounjin held his hand forward and made a horizontal sweep in the air and uttered the words:

“Kataki yuge no Senjiru... Benitaiyou!” (Boil all your enemies to vapour…CrimsonSun!)

A dazzling point of light traced out the path of his hand. An intense burst of heat radiated around the area. The soldiers fell back in pain. Batisha watched with his eyes wide open. Where there had been nought but thin air now lay a burning blade held in Tenshoujin’s hand. At first it simply appeared as a shaft of light but as he watched it grew in width and colour. Crimson flames danced off its edge their movements casting a hypnotic spell on the onlookers. The blade was smooth and hot, alive with a purpose. Batisha felt it would cut him even if left unheld.

He watched on in fear and awe...

Swiftant: Unforeseen

Thinking: The black dragon was addressing itself as Fayuro and this person as Master Kazuhide when it growled, so he must be...

"I don't want to fight. I merely want to talk. Giving you your sakkat is proof of that. You could leave, now that you have regained your treasure. But if you do, then you won't hear how I came to acquire it, or my plans for the dragons.", Kazuhide elaborately negotiates, his words administering every morsel of my body, his tacit gestures indicating his comprehension & application of my secular hunger. My eyes close in contemplation.

Thinking: However, in my favour this occurence edges as well.

"My options have been conveniently minimized; I shall pursue your life no more.", I say, after weighing my alternatives, a shade of indigo upon my opening eyes, "On the condition that you immediately reverse our course of flight."

"If you insist...", Kazuhide sighs with a relief of satisfaction and orders Fayuro to make a turnabout.

"Now..."

Coupling with the sudden transition of turbulence and altitude, the clouds of night mist veils our sights, performing a blinding grey dance of despondence. In the twitch of a muscle, my legs join nature in its timely play.

"...what is it you wish to convey?", I finish... right beside Kazuhide!

Aptly acknowledging its cue, the fog relinquishes its bind over us, enlightening the night of two individuals braced for forging a grosteque war between themselves.

Both of us stand synchronized in a line, our bodies side by side, our irises glaring belligerently into the other from the corners of our eyes.

"Heh, I can never predict what's on your mind, Swiftant.", Kazuhide lets out an embarassed chuckle and lowers his freshly-drawn naginata. Glimpsing into the verdant distance, he enters into a rant of explanations.

"Despite my trying courtesy, denial escapes me Swiftant. I dislike you, you and your kind alike. While civilians cowered in fear of the vitriol dragons pinned unto them, you held your humanity in outrageous suspense and contempt, and atrociously furnished the wretched monsters in absurd conspiracies!", Kazuhide verbally vents his vexation to the air, then pointing his weapon to me all of a sudden, his armed hand shaking with anger. I can see hatred dulling the colour of his eyes.

"And yet... In spite of your preposterous defiance, my elven master has perforated all your sins and chosen to cut a traitor such as yourself off from your prime of betrayal. to the extent of even depressing his position to be in need of your services... It was truly beyond my anticipations...", he drops his offense again, his eyes fading from reality.

"Thus, either killing me or abiding by your master would put to a brim what you can fathom, since you've already divulged the matter.", I daringly raise my voice above his, "...Those are the only way you can let go, right?"

"Swift..."

"Hmph, if you wanna carry on spouting masonries of rhetorics, be my guest. But before you derogate yourself any further, let me tell you this: Perservance does not merely apply to one party. Our lives feed on diverse emotions and the people revolving around us, just like a foodchain. Without life, this chain is broken, affecting everyone adversely, because they'll have so much piled up they won't be able to contain their loneliness. Humans consume one another's loneliness, it's in our blood. It's a principle that includes you, your master, and I, Swiftant. It's also the same reason why humanity has survived the wrath of the dragons until today, and why... they will never beat us down."

My mind has been vibrating uproariously in awe of what I just said, or rather, how much I said. Somehow, something had compelled me to release an astounding amount of grievances I had bottled up for years.

Thinking: First time for everything huh?

Unlike his previous penetrating glare, I notice Kazuhide is staring at me, with compassion and empathy.

"Anything to protect what we desire I guess...", he smiles, "First and foremost, you gotta protect yourself, wiseguy."

"Wha..?"

"During your high and almighty pretentious speech, I could have sliced your head clean off your shoulders through your conspicuous openings Swiftant. If anyone should heed your advice it's yourself. I am not about to let someone who hasn't let anyone consumed their loneliness to lecture me.", Kazuhide smiles, his grin growing wider on reciprocation.

He and I certainly have reached a mutual understanding. Our noble audience of stars twinkle in unison, as if cheering the humans to march on victoriously, and proudly.

"Swift, watch out!!", a feminine voice hollers through the night, in a cry for help.

A humongous golden wall takes up the entire space in front of us and the sound of flapping wings against air currents intensifies.

"No! Thrandos!", I scream, anguished by the thought of being unprepared and more so by one of alerting Shakura.

"Did you forget I was guarding this fortress Swift? Together with the elite dragons?", the golden general growls egoistically, "Oh, wait, don't mention it, because you're dead!"

"Swiftant!", Kazuhide's voice spins my attention toward him, "Use Fayuro... Flee from this place, with Suzette! I'll handle Thrandos and his soldiers."

"No way in hell, you can't win against this many of them!", I protest in agony.

"I'll be the decoy for you to make your getaway," Kazuhide proposes, clearly ignoring me.

"SWIFT!!!", Suzette cries, louder than ever.

"She may be a warrior, but she's still a vulnerable girl, Swiftant. Remember our pact tonight. Everyday in the future carries a glimmer of hope... C'yah soon then, and thanks for ridding me of my loneliness.", he bids an ending note.

Kazuhide pets Fayuro hard on its head, and jumps off, propelling himself towards Thrandos's.

"HYA!!!!"

"KAZU!!!"

**Glad you're back SS aka Suzette!! I was about to go hunt for you if you didn't return! Remind me to PM you the details tomorrow! WootS!! ^_^
Aoshi's and Kanji's writing still rock like usual... Please forgive this old piece of sh** though >_< I was listening to something emotional, couldn't resist XD
Btw, the elite dragons consist of: the water dragon, nature dragon, the fire dragon and the lightning dragon, like I posted much earlier on on this thread.

KAZUHIDE ~ The Final Showdown?

** How am I supposed to top that?!
Amazing as usual Nard-kun, if only I could use such great words! **

KAZUHIDE

The Five Elite Dragons of the Empire move into an attacking position. They plan to move in quickly, and annihilate us. I think to myself. If Swiftant doesn't survive, then my master's plans with all have been for naught. I hated to admit it, but the DragonSin's role in this war was much more important then my own. His somewhat endless talents is exactly what the Elven forces needed. Why they would want to enlist a human, no, a human who serves Dragon's for that matter, I did not know.

It no longer mattered anyways, I had advanced this far along my path of Destiny, there was no turning back now.... All my accomplishments all my feats and glory, were for my Master. For him alone, and no other. All I ever wanted, was to be recognized by him...For my master, was my father.

I turned to Swiftant and his companion, Suzette.

"Swiftant! Use Fayuro... Flee from this place, with Suzette! I'll handle Thrandos and his soldiers."

"No way in hell, you'll can't win against this many of them!" Swiftant protests in agony.

"I'll be the decoy for you to make your getaway." I give a heartful smile.

"SWIFT!!!", Suzette cries, louder than ever.

"Here, take this, you'll be needing this device. It's on the right frequency, just press the small red switch, it'll patch you through to my master!" I reach down into my leg holster, and remove the communication device my father had given to me before I had agreed to accept this mission.

"Also, she may be a warrior, but she's still a vulnerabe girl, Swiftant. Remember our pact tonight. Everyday in the future carries a glimmer of hope... C'yah soon then, and thanks for ridding me of my loneliness." I smile once more.

"Now take it and go! NOW!! Fayuro! FLY!!" At my yell of desperation, Fayuro spreads his firm black wings, beating them together, he takes off with my new friends on his back, and travels high into the sky. Thrandos had attempted to follow.

"No! It's me you want. Don't you want revenge? I made you look bad, and I just defied you and your precious Holiness!" I give the most sarcastic grin I can muster.

Thrandos faces me. His eyes beat with malice. He growls his next words. "Revenge? No, I don't need to sink to such levels. A Renegade like you, I needn't bloody my hands with. The others will dispose of you. I will just be the spectator of your struggle." Thrandos curls back his dragon lips, into a fanged-smile.

A Dragon to Thrandos' right, the Purple Dragon of Lightning steps forward. It was Leinurus. "Kazuhide. This is unexpected of you. Why have you left the Empire? Was it that terrorist Tatsu who enlisted you into his measly pack?"

"Tatsu?" I raise an eyebrow. "I know no one of that name." I give a laugh. "I just love how humans have been given all you dragons such a hard time! I must say, it is surprising that a mere human, not an Elf, has been giving you all such grief. I mean seriously! All these years, sitting around on your fat asses, getting everything you can get your greedy claws on, must be finally taking it's toll!" I erupt with laughter, I simply cannot contain it. Even though the current situation was so dire, and I should be assessing this dilemma much more seriously, I had a gut instinct that no matter what I did, this was the end of the line. So why go down in a panicky frenzy? I should enjoy this time to see the Dragons quake with rage.

"That is enough out of your traitorous tongue!" Leinurus hisses. "You will pay for your deeds with your life!" Leinurus turns to his left and faces the female Dragon of Nature. "Dimitria!" Leinurus bellows. "I am giving you the opportunity to be noticed by his Lordship Thrandos. Now it the time to display your worth to the Golden Dragon. Do not disappoint him."

The beautiful brownish green Dragon of Nature trudged forward from the back row. This Dragon's scales was adorned with ivy and lush leaves. Her tail was much longer then the other dragon's and was wrapped in stumps and bush. Large thorns stuck from her back and head. She was beautiful, but she was also extremely dangerous.

"As you wish." Spoke Dimitria softly. "I do not have taste for such useless battles, but I will do as I am commanded." Dimitria bats her eyes, and comes closer to me.

"So, this is the Final Showdown is it? I am glad I was noticed enough by the Elites. Shakura would be displeased if you returned without my blade!"

I extend my left arm over my shoulder and unhook Jet from his sheath. Moonlight shines from the blade.

"Now come Dragon! Face me!"

Chapter 6: Destruction

Tenshoujin gripped the blade with longing as though meeting a part of himself he had lost long ago. As he gripped it, it gleamed red with heat and took on the slender form of a katana.

What magic is this Batisha thought… he summons fire as a weapon? Even the elves cannot do that. Who is this guy?

Tenshoujin lazily beckoned the soldiers… “Which one of you wants to die first?”

Batisha forcefully calmed himself. Chaos and surprise were often bigger enemies than lack of skill. Regaining his composure, he thought to himself…“Fool! By working your fire magic you’ve only proven yourself an enemy to the ranks and sealed your own doom”

“Brothers! This thief works magic. It is absolute proof that he sides with the dragons that have brought us to our sorry state. Tonight we shall avenge not just our beloved Soren but our entire race! Kill the infernal braggart and tear his body to shreds”

A frenzied soldier in the front line sprung from his position. He jumped high into the air and wielded his mighty battle axe in a crushing blow.

Tenshoujin watched attentively as he saw the soldier leap. For his heavy build, he had surprisingly strong legs to leap that high. He watched every inch of emotion play on the soldiers face. He saw the eyebrows move together and his forehead contort in fury. The heavy battle axe began its slow descent cutting through the air.

As it swung down, Tenshoujin nimbly side stepped its swathing path and swung Benitaiyou thrice in succession. The first swing hit the axe blade, cleaved it cleanly in two and continued to chop the soldier in half. The second swing cut the soldier across the chest, ripping through his armour like a hot knife through butter. The third upward swing, slashed the soldier right through his descending legs…

Where one entire soldier had leapt for an attack, four of him fell to the Earth along with a broken axe whose many pieces rolled away into the night.

Batisha watched on dazed. His respect for Tenshoujin grew by the minute. He knew he had underestimated him. A weaker combatant would have worked better for his plan. He cursed himself for not thinking it through. Perhaps his greed was indeed blinding. More perturbed than before he began to assess the situation. His warriors were scared, but they were ready to fight. Tenshoujin stood alone but he was too powerful for any of the men to take on individually. Perhaps a combined attack would prove more efficient... Batisha ordered three of his men to quickly strike from the front, while silently beckoning two of them to go around behind.

Tenshoujin’s dragon vision did not miss the signal. This Batisha person still underestimated him. It wasn’t surprising though, given that Tenshoujin was the only survivor of his species. There was no way Batisha would know what he was up against. There was only one way to finish this quickly and it involved wiping them all out in a single blow. He smiled to himself. It was time to get serious now…

He pulled Benitaiyou in front of his face aligning it vertically and made a two finger hand seal with his left hand using his index and middle fingers.

Tenshoujin spoke to the group as they started their formation. “I don’t have time to play all night. We end this now…”

“Onihikyo Taisetsujin Ryu: Hakureihi” (Demonic Grand-Fire Human Slicer Style: Extensive ritual flame attack!)

** I won't be on for a couple of days so I'll post once I'm back. Keep the story rocking you guys! **

Kazuhide ~ "This is Our World"

KAZUHIDE

My Naginata, was wicked, and the curved tip was sharp. Waiting for fresh blood, the blade was held firmly in my grasp. The moon's light shined from my eyes, and reflected the dragon back at itself. "The time has come Jet." I glanced down at my weapon. The black and gold handle was smooth and cold. "We have to prove ourselves. We have to prove that we matter. And most of all, we have to prove that something even more then the dragon's exist. We will show them their folly."

Dimitria trudged forward. As she moved, leaves fell her from scales, I could hear her whispering, but it was faint. " I do not favor useless battles." She started "But this is an order. I have been told to kill you by my superiors. So, there is nothing I can do."

I stare the Dragon in her emerald eyes. I don't say a word. There is nothing to say. We both have been ordered to carry out a mission. There is nothing to negotiate. With bated breath I move in, my steps crunch under the stiff dirt.

"Dimitria! Let's go! We don't have all day! Kill him now!" Leinurus spits his order out in aggravation. The female Dragon sighs. "Alright then. Let's go human."

"Earthen Avalanche, shattering ground!" Dimitria calls out her attack. She stretches her long, powerful tail over her head, and pierces the earth. The ground shatters, and a chasm begins to form, rocks roll down into it, and gathers up. Dimitria flaps her powerful wings, and calls up a windstorm across the surface of the earth. The winds launched all the rocks and boulders at me. With my best effort, I jump and evade by each passing rock. Jet cuts through a few as they tumble toward.

I run full speed at the Dragon, as the rocks rush by me. I hurl my body of the wall of rubble that is gathering, and hurl myself into the air. The moon casts my shadow upon the Dragon's lower back, where I intend to land.

Once on the dragon, I run through the bush and leaves, making my way up the body. Dimitria begins to shake violently to try and force me off.

I grip Jet, crouching to one knee, I notice abreak in the scales. The spot is soft, an old tree root, is just covering the vital point. I position myself upwards, and drive the naginata into the fleshy hide. The dragon screams out in pain, and my weapon travels deep. Her yells are awful. Hearing her suffering ringing through my ears are did not give me the satisfaction that I was longing for. She didn't want this fight, she does not strive for battle like the others do. "I'm sorry." I mutter, a strand of hair hangs over my eye. I palm my hands together, and hold them just below my sternum. "Here it is, time to use that technique. The one I learned from the Old General." I plant my legs in the dirt on Dimitria's back, and make a firm ground for myself. I close my eyes and rest my chin on my chest, hanging my head as low as possible, and I concentrate...

A desire to win, and clear a way for Swiftant was my number one on the agenda. My eyes flash open, and a ball of fire flashes in my iris. "Now! Dragon's style, Scorching Breath!"

A stream of searing fire shoots from my mouth, and engulfs Dimitria's Leafy armor. The bushes and tree stumps on the Dragon's back are all quickly engulfed in flame. I hunch myself over, and throw back my arms, in an attempt to get out as much fire from my lungs as I possibly could. My throat was burning. I hadn't used this move in so long, and the sensation was maddening.....Dimitria's screams were much more heartfelt then before. I could not show emotion, or any sort of care for this beast. They wouldn't give me even the littlest chance to redeem myself and survive the battle.

Being taken prisoner, was not an option I had set for myself. So it was either this dragon or me, that was about to die. "Let's finish with this!" I flip twice backwards into the air, moving away from Dimitria's burning body, and spin down with Jet. Black and Gold streaks of light form a cyclone in the air.

"Golden Maelstrom, Black Cyclone!" Shades of gold and black, manifest sharp, piercing blades of light. With a gesture of my hand, I can move these blades into my foe. "Jet! Show them what 'ya got!" I dive my arms back, and forward, and then back again. The golden blades hurtle towards the Nature Dragon, when a whip of water blindsides me from the left, knocking me over, and throwing my attack away. The golden light blades shatter on the water and turn to colored dust clouds.

I fall on my right elbow. A sharp pain shoots up my arm. Jet bounces swivels across the dirt, and lands some paces away. The Water Dragon had intervened. She looked for fierce then Dimitria did. Her long sleek body was covered in a thick watery shield, her light-blue scales shown through. This defied the very laws of gravity. The water should of fell from her body, and crashed up the ground, but instead, the water swirled about her, as if it was acting of it's own will. Staying, and sculpting her frame, it would be difficult to cut through it.

"Hmph...Aren't you breaking ranks?" I shoot a glare at the Water Dragon.

"Nuruoki!" Leinurus spat out. "That is not your place to protect Dimitria. This is her battle. Let her die in honor."

Dimitria's scales were still ablaze. The Nuruoki, ignored Leinurus' order, and proceeded the douse the flames.

"Thank you." Dimitria spoke softly. Nuruoki nodded, and moved to face me. "This human will be taken care of for you. My Water will cancel out his fire, and he will have nothing else to fight with. But me, I still have my claws." Nuruoki was just as beautiful as Dimitria. I was not going to underestimate her talents. Dimitria took flight. "This battle will have to end here. May the gods show you mercy." With that said, The Dragon flies away.

"Nuruoki! Do not disappoint us. You will have to clean up Dimitria's mess. Hurry up and finish this, so she can receive her punishment!" Leinurus once again sends an order to the female dragon. "Yes sir."

I move up to my feet. "Still want to fight me? Still want to kill and take over everything?! Well I'll show you my resolve. I still have a fire lit inside! You damned dragons will have to learn the hard way. You are not welcomed here! This is our world!"
