September Poetry Contest

I saw a thread for a short story contest and thought that I would post a poetry contest thread.

So here are the guidelines:

You can use any format of poetry but it has to be more than stanza.
All entries may be submitted in only one post, you may edit this post as many times as you wish before the deadline though.
No entries after the deadline.
You may not vote for your own poem.
You must check back on the day after the deadline for the link to the voting thread.
MUST BE YOUR WORK.

THE DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 29TH!!!!!!!

I may remove the theme if 3+ people complain about it (you're the first :p)

Then I shall be the second.

Now by two pages what does that mean exactly? Like two pages of manga made in the form of meh?

I'll be the third..
Poetry is unique, I don't think we should have to write about a certain theme. It takes away from the meaning if it's not sincere. : /

the theme is a good idea for people who like to write about it.

KikiBunny23 09-09-2008 11:21 PM

I'll be the +

I could write on a theme but this one...ehhhh

TokyoRain 09-10-2008 12:38 PM

well then, the theme is gone *poof* walaa *fantastic flailing of arms.

Tsunasuke 09-13-2008 06:15 PM

I think the theme is a good thing as long as its not to specific. It makes it a challenge and betters the poet. You have to broaden your poetry in order to go places with it. Just my thoughts and what was the theme ne way?

it was "gain and loss" pretty vague huh?

there are many ways you can show that, and thats the good part. Without a challenge of a theme whats the use of it being a contest. Might as well just make a poetry thread.
