Poem: Scar From one Lover

I still dream about one love
affair in particular
The scent of her hair and
how my words use to tickle her
Call it Nostalgia or whatever you
will
Her laughter was nourishment
more so than any meal
I thought it was real more
unbreakable than any deal

...and shit...

I still dream about her
she was gorgeous all natural
or with her face powdered
Her soul was tailor made
it went perfect with her eyes
I thought I had found my heart
she was pain in disguise

...I guess...

The mind overrides LOVE
When you fall for its lies

nobora 08-28-2010 07:24 AM

Eiri02 08-28-2010 07:27 AM

Yes this is a true testiment...and you're right it is sad, and sadly this is just life

nobora 08-28-2010 07:29 AM

True , your right

Eiri02 08-28-2010 07:34 AM

Yes LOL...but once one is able to write these things out for others to read and relate to they can begin to recover from these everday tragedies

I know this is going to make me sound like an ass, but I know this from experience:

If you want your artwork to impact in the the most meaningful way, just check your spelling. The first spelling error completely ejected me from any emotional impact the poem might have had on me.

You took the time to change the color and italics. Next time take the time to spell-check.

The word "nostalgia" shouldn't be capitalized or have the letter "e".

I wish I could write stuff like this too.

Eiri02 08-29-2010 03:15 AM

I wish everyone could just write out what they feel instead of acting on irrational emotions...I think the world would be a much safer and peaceful place if that were so

nobora 08-30-2010 12:38 AM

It would be. I do act on irrational emotions all the time.

vithvicious 08-30-2010 12:06 PM

One could argue that Love is an irrational emotion.......

/cliche off.....

dogsbody70 08-30-2010 12:17 PM

writing poetry is very cathartic and good therapy.

so many poems about love and rejection.

Its so much easier never to love-- because of the pain

vithvicious 08-30-2010 12:20 PM

Well in that case I would venture to say that we shouldn't live either.

Eventually we all die and dying can be painful.

dogsbody70 08-30-2010 12:48 PM

aaaaaaaaaaaaah maybe Ha ha.

Cathartic indeed! My works written in angst, whatever the source, are always better than those written about passing thoughts. The lighter ones are worthy, but have far less impact on both myself and others.

As for it being easier never to love and avoid pain - it doesn't work.
It only subtitutes pain of emptiness and deprivation for the pain of loss.
To emulate my favorite poet, Dorothy Parker "you might as well live." In this case, love.

dogsbody70 08-30-2010 08:45 PM

whats the saying-- its better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.

katieb142 08-30-2010 09:09 PM

Deep... You have a real talent. Its better than some of the things I read at Oxford :D

I believe it is in the writing that some Healing can happen.

It is like therapy. Some of our greatest poems are about Love, rejection, soul.
