Latest compliments was probably "you're quite metro" "nice hair" "nice outfit" "you're such a good friend" "i feel comfortable around you"

the metro was one off my best friends and it was sort off a joke but since i _am_ quite metro i take it as a compliment :) and i've been working on the other parts so its good know that people takes notice.

Compliments are a great boost for your confidence, love it and I'm getting better at giving compliments too, since i know that they _do_ matter.

thats your favorite compliment?

ilovedaisuke7 08-08-2008 03:47 PM

I love being told that I'm talented or creative. ^^
Although, any compliment someone gives me I take to heart. *nods*

But I usually get comments about my lips. XD

Haha I declare myself guilty of that :p

I really like it when, after spending half the day in the kitchen, someone says I'm not as bad at cooking as people say [<-- unsure of how I got such a reputation... I've never screwed up a meal... well, just that once. But still it was edible and no one died of intoxication so] x) Also, I like being told that I'm good in bed, but duh who doesn't. And I like it when I'm wearing new clothes and someone actually notices and says they look good on me :D Again, who doesn't...

I don't... It makes me feel uncomfortable when someone is checking me out. >.>

Scanning me, even. xD

MissMisa 08-08-2008 05:37 PM

I don't actually know. I get actually quite embarrased when someone compliments me. I hate it though, when you pay someone a compliment and they go, 'aww nahhh,' like they are fishing for more. I just say thanks, [even if I don't think it's true,] and leave it at that.

I guess it's probably, 'I like your artwork,' from randomers, that's always nice. Or when I do something for someone and they say, 'I really appreciate it.' It's nice to know you are respected and people appreciate what you do for them.

So yeah that's probably it. I always pay compliments to my friends though, like, I like your new hair/clothes, you've done really good in exams, and things like that.

ThirdSight 08-08-2008 06:11 PM

I very rarely get complimented, but when I do, it's usually by my one friend who actually reads my work.

And I'm modest to a core, so when I get compliments, it's hard for me to get 'em down.

My friend's told me that I've made about 2 years of progress on my poetry in about 2 months, and I still don't believe him.

Besides that, any kind of compliment is nice; I'm a fan of the out-there comments, you gotta' be pretty brave and creative to make those.

yeah, that bugs me when people, deny your compliment,
"I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true"

its ok to say " thanks, although i disagree"

You're smart.

Really? You don't like having girls stare at your derriere? Rrrrrright ;)

Me neither. Not girls anyways. Well actually, I was once complimented by a pretty hot lesbian and that totally made my day :D

Salvanas 08-10-2008 11:32 PM

A compliment that I'm handsome.

Or very mature

Kiyuge 08-10-2008 11:59 PM

I like getting told my drawings are good or that I have a good imagination...

linbro 08-11-2008 12:09 AM

hmmm.. tough one.. "I love how your eyes catch the light", made me laugh my ass off

Dainty 08-11-2008 06:44 PM

I usually don't like getting compliments. It makes me uncomfortable. I'll just shy away and say thank you after the fact.

TokyoRain 08-12-2008 02:58 AM

I happen to like when people tell me I should model or that my kids are gonna be gorgeous. Either one is great but any compliment is welcome and appreciated. Also when people tell me I'm good at riding, playing music, or am smart.

your kids will be pretty? never even heard that one before

EveV 08-19-2008 04:58 AM

So someone said " Nice toes..." the other day.
Was weird...

Actually I have something to add, I like it when people compliment something about the way I act.
It makes you feel like it's completely okay to be yourself around that person.
I rather hear, " You have a cute attitude" then " You have a cute face"

yuujirou 08-22-2008 02:28 PM

hmm o.o'
i suppose... i really like it when people say....

i'm cute
i'm feminine-esque
i'm pretty
i'm adorable

i don't like it when people say....

i'm asian (because that's a 'no f'ing sh''t' sherlock >.>")
...really can't think of anything else xD

You're Asian.

In my opinion you should turn that into a positive remark and have pride in who you are.

How many non-Asians want to be Asians? 'nuff said.

If that's the case, should I take ALL remarks of the blatant obvious as compliments as well? o.o'

And I have no pride in my race (despite me throwing that around here and there... but that's just for kicks x]) for the record. Let all who want too be asian, be asian. None of them will ever be as sexy as me anyway >.>'

Bureda 08-22-2008 02:37 PM

Yeah, at the end those who make rude remarks and are at an obvious flaming point are just being hateful at the end they will only stress themselves out.

So, why sway with them when you can simply take pride on who you are.

Easy now, nobody's got a bigger ego than a rich white man, you will meet one someday and he'll pop it for you.

Haha xD
Talk is reserved only for the courteous and respected.
The deserving in short.
Those lesser beings get only my middle finger x]
Or more should they become somewhat aggressive >.>'

Bureda 08-22-2008 02:52 PM

Asians are emotional in general, it wouldn't be too hard to throw one off the tracks.

Blacks are the same, they have uber-ego but get thrown/angered off easily.

I personally like someone who's quiet, knows he's of value and respects those around him.

Example:
A black chick with a huge ego walks in the store.

You say 'You hoe!'

'nuff said. lol.

PS. I speak from experience not from a racist point of view. I loves all races, maybe not Americans as much.

yuujirou 08-22-2008 03:02 PM

I will honestly say... I'm not necessarily fond of 'all' races.
Like... I'll never date an african-american, a latinoe, prolly not another asian, etc.
But, I will 'offer' everyone the amount of respect they deserve based on their personalities.

Bureda 08-22-2008 03:03 PM

Indeed, people who deny that are too try hard.
Dave Chappelle said it the best.

Heh, guess I wasn't too far off the ball when I called you a white piece of republican shit. I'd take that as a compliment if I was you, seems like the type you'd enjoy.

Bureda 08-22-2008 03:07 PM

Indeed !

Singular
republican

Plural
republicans

republican (plural republicans)

1. Someone who favours a republic; an anti-monarchist.
2. (history, politics) Someone who favours social equality and opposes aristocracy and privilege.

Sir, there is one Mrs Macaulay in this town, a great republican. One day when I was at her house, I put on a very grave countenance, and said to her, 'Madam, I am now become a convert to your way of thinking. I am convinced that all mankind are upon an equal footing...' (Boswell, The Life of Samuel Johnson, 1791). Travels of a Republican Radical in Search of Hot Water - Title of a collection of essays published by the leftwing novelist H. G. Wells in 1939.
