While there may be some truth to the idea that maturity isn't a matter of age, experiance is. Folks between 13 and 14 have alot of emotional instability because of hormonal changes they are undergoing. Not to mention they have barely started life and lack enough experiance to navigate such emotional situations.

I will agree that there can be exceptions to this, but those are exceptions, not the rule.

what do girls think about compliments

I'm wondering what Japanese girls do think about men walking up to them and start making compliments.
e.g. "your eyese are beautiful" and other dull things. Aren't these actually boring?

Also I would like to know J-girls opinion about making eye contact. I heard girls in Japan are shy. Hence there is no real eye contact so men would never know the "trigger" if a J-girls is fancying them...

Also, do girls think weird if men walk up to them on an e.g. underground train or library etc. Here majority of girls are only "accepting" men's approach in clubs/bars... during the routine of everyday life they would regard any men walking up to them as weird. How is this with J-girls?

happy new year to all of you! :)

Japanese girls are all different, some of them will think it's weird, others won't. They are individuals and they will all have different opinions.

'Girls in Japan are shy' - lol no. Some girls may be shy, and it's traditional to be humble about yourself but that doesn't mean that all Japanese girls are the same and will react in the same way.

I would personally find it weird if some randomer came up to me and told me I had 'beautiful eyes,' as would most of the girls I know. I'd find that weird in any setting, but that's just my individual taste.

no offense here, but are you actually japanese? :)

No.

If you are interested in what Japanese girls have to say, the answer will be as open and varied as if you asked all the females on JF their opinions on it, Japanese or not.

In England, Japan, America or I'd guess most places in the modern world if you told a random girl "your eyes are beautiful" or held eye contact for more than a fleeting second with someone other than your other half in a serious moment then you are a creep.

Watch people around you, try hold eye contact with someone for more than 2seconds, they will look away and look a little freaked.

Harsh but true. Social situations are tricky but there are certain things that you obviously never do.

Check out just a few threads on here, and you will realize that majority of the members are NOT Japanese. I reckon that you won't find many Japanese people on this forum due to the mere fact that people are rarely fascinated by what they're used to. As a Dane, I can't seem to figure out why they'd open a University in China to study H.C. Andersen's fairy tales in Danish.

Theory: As a Japanese born and raised girl, I'd probably be a bit weirded out to know that people actually find themselves 'fascinated' by my country, my mere Japanese-ness and general stereotypical 'Japanese' things like anime, manga and kanji. AND I'd be even more scared if I were to find out that guys actually ask random girls.. on a forum called JapanForum.. about how to pick up Japanese girls in ways most efficient.

No offense here, of course :)

Hahha, fair enough :)

Okay, another question to the ladies here... :-)
Imagine you're at a party.. there is a guy who is desperately trying to be the center of the party, loud, making jokes, getting the attention. Do you think is this attractive to ladies? Or is it pathetic?

One doesn't have to be a girl to answer this one: the word that screams out here is "desperately" as in 'desperately trying to be the center of attention'.... desperation in this instance is pathetic....

Guess that means no more parties for me. :D
