New sub-section.

Since it seems awfully popular to pull a cloak and dagger move on this forum and have threads just vanish. Even though no one is really breaking the rules and two members just disagree with something without resorting to flaming, trolling, and basic immaturity.

I propose a sub-forum be created in the "General Topics" section to simply move threads that were going to be deleted anyway, to allow said discussion to continue on providing it doesn't actually break any rules.

I just think it's rather silly to have someone in the thread start saying "oh this is getting out of hand!" when it's really not, and then having two people disagree about something -- in a civilized manner; be some reason to have the thread suddenly disappear.

Forums are supposed to be about discussing things, not having two people with opposing opinions be grounds for a thread disappearing. Hell it has some eerie 1984 feeling to it.

If rules weren't being broken threads wouldn't disappear. We have had LONG threads going on for days and weeks between users that know how to disagree without flaming and getting personal.

Agrees with MMM....just look at the Best Gaming System Thread.
I was just reading through it and was wondering what took Kanji so long to shut that one down. That one was getting very personal.
Ugghhh!!! What nonsense!!
While I agree that there is nothing wrong with a healthy debate, there are limitations. I mean, how many different ways can someone say the SAME thing?
If you don't get your point across the first time, it's futile to expend more time and energy trying to convince someone your opinion is the right one.

That's funny. The thread was closed AFTER we'd finished debating.
