One quick question on the pasyt/present and future tenses. -

I'm currently practicing my Japanese.
One part I'm writitng is,
Oteru to Jinjou o shimashita. Omoshirou (sou) katte kara.
Would the sou in brackets work in that sentence to translate to,
"I went to a temple and shrine, because they sounded/looked interesting" ? Or would I have to add some sort of particle to join them up?
- “I've been lucky. I'll be lucky again.” -
