Here in North America, there are quite a few forums who have members whose best friends(beside their pets)are virtual friends.
I think that the holiday season can be very difficult. So, the best is to continue to post in the appropriate forums here and other site that you feel can help you get support.
I feel that a 12-13 hour flight melts away when I am on the internet.
In fact, being on the internet more than 8 hours time goes very fast.
Especially if one is interacting through the internet with others not on the same continent as you or nearly so.
