Sorry I'm a newcomer here so you might have found the answer yourself but just in case; I haven't read "BLOOD+" novel series nor watched the anime(I only read its manga-version a by Asuka Katsura) but as far as I've found from Web KADOKAWA site, 1)the mainstream novel series authored by 池端亮 and issued under 角川スニーカー文庫 and 2)the "Russian Rose" series by 漲月かりの under 角川ビーンズ文庫 are currently running independently from each other. So I believe that you should rather pick up the series rather than follow the release date of those books.
