I'm thinking about going to Japan in late-May so I just hope the USD rises against the yen. Right now it's
1 USD=102.360 JPY. How I wish the days of 1 USD=120 JPY would return.

I have a VISA debit card and not an ATM card so I'm wondering if I can withdraw money from the debit card in a foreign country without any problems. Still need to research that. Is there any way to bring straight cash and then exchange them at the bank instead of using ATM and still get a respectable exchange rate?

Edit: I read that I can exchange cash at the post office and banks without fees.
