Kind of hard for me to say, since I grew up with it I never found it hard.
Since you know German you probably have an advantage, Swedish is a Germanic language so several words are the same/quite similar. The grammar however is quite different and Swedish grammar seems to be quite inconsistent so it might be a bit difficult to learn.
A friend of mines sister-in-law comes from Germany and she's only lived here for about 2 years, she didn't speak a lot when she came here and now her Swedish is almost flawless (she has an accent though) so it hardly seems impossible to learn.
