Yep, it's a really amazing place to visit, much more traditionally Japanese than Kyoto, as they said in the article. And I agree with the statement that they should keep it traditional, with the sliding paper doors, tatami rooms with futons, and shojin-ryori. It's like staying in a traditional ryokan, with the added benefit of being surrounded by Buddhist monks, over 100 temples with very important ties to Japanese history and Buddhism, and one of the oldest and most incredible cemeteries in Japan filled with everyone from monks, shoguns and samurai to one of Japan's first astronauts, and it's all set on a lush, forested mountaintop less than 2 hours from Osaka!
