You can't use に as an indicator for time for words like あした、きのう、毎日 as they are relative times and not absolute times.
I'm studying japanese with the みんなの日本語 book (part 1), i'm not so far though but I sometimes take a look in other books. I noticed that in a lot of cases the に-particle is used instead of the へ-particle for direction, like in the sentence above. According to みんなの日本語 it should be あした アメリカへ 帰ります。. Are both correct or is the に-version only colloquial language?
